Plot Summary:
Alan and Wendy Barnet, a quiet, upper-middle-class yuppie couple, are stuck in rut romantically. After some soul-searching, they decide to spice up their sex life by placing an ad in a swingers magazine. From among the many replies they receive, they arrange a date with Jack and Louise Bauer, a young couple who seem similar to the Barnets. After a very enoyable evening of spouse-swapping, the Barnets feel theyve broken out of their rut and are ready to return to a life of monogamy. The Bauers, unfortunately, arent quite so ready to let go.

Not bad, but not what I wanted to see.
Okay, first off, I'll admit it.. I rented this movie solely because Iwantedto see if Kristy Swanson would finally do a nude scene. Well, I don'twantto spoil it for anyone expecting the same, but I must (might save you somemoney). This sex thriller has lots of sex, but not the flesh. Swanson isscantly clad, but not nude. There's lots of flesh scenes, but it's mostlythighs, legs and stomachs. In fact, not a single breast shot was seen.Theonly nudity in this flick is an underwater butt shot which I think isBaldwin's. And to debate another's review here in the comment section,Swanson did a better pseudo-lesbian scene in "Higher Learning" withJenniferConnelly. All that said, onto the actual review of the movie. I expected (wanted) anude Swanson and ended up with a decent B-movie erotic thriller. Thismovieproves that you can have suspense and eroticism, without the obligatorybreasts shot. Predictable at times, it still held my attention throughoutand wondering how the experimenting couple would finally be rid of theirnewpartners. For those debating whether or not to rent this movie, wait for it toappear(again) on cable, it will save you $3-$4. But when it does, be sure tocatch it because it ain't all that bad.

Definitely a movie worth watching if you like thrillers and beautiful people.
This movie is exciting and keeps you riveted right until the very end. I'mnot giving anything away for anyone reading this because the descriptiontells you its a thriller, but if you don't know that and you're notexpecting it (which I wasn't), you get quite a surprise as it doesn'tappearto be a thriller in the beginning. The characters are interesting and theactors do an excellent job of portraying them. Plus they are verybeautiful. Makes you want to think twice about different choices you maybethinking about making in your life.

Starts off good quickly becomes predictable
The movie started off with an interesting plot line. A married couple withchildren toys with the idea of becoming swingers. The movie follows theawkward steps the couple takes to finally go through with theidea. The acting was good for a B movie, but the plot became too unreal. Oncetheymeet another couple how do they stop the relationship? What if the newcouple won't stop calling them? This and every other lame idea you can comeup with begins to happen. If not for the well-shot scenes of Kristy kissingBrandy this movie would be a real clunker.

Very hot
This is about as close to soft Porn as cable comes. Brandy Ledford isexquisite as a brunette and by far one of the hottest MILFs on a TVscreen. The Pool scene alone makes this one to watch with Kristy inHigh heels doing the dogie paddle around the pool before Brandy joinsher. This is very erotic and a great mood setter. But you'd better hurrybecause after the elevator scene the movie loses all eroticism which isreplaced by terror, not a good switch.I would have preferred to see Brandy and Kristy make naked snow angelsfor the remainder of the flick.

Excellent movie with good plot, directing and acting
I noticed too many unjust reviews to this flick which compelled me tocomment. The movie is correctly performed and placed in Genre ofThriller and makes perfect sense when you view it with open minded eyesand fill the character's shoes. It is a low intensity thriller and Ifeel it works perfectly for this flick and found it very refreshing. The Bauers pursued their relations with the Barnets even afterrejection for several good reason such as the need to dominate, control, subdue, and conquer someones worthy of being lifelong intimatepartners. some of this is explained in the movie and the rest you mustextract from understanding the characters. The involvement of thechildren(but not too much)in the movie gave it depth. Yes, I wasdisappointed that Kristy didn't show more skin but get real. I waspleasantly surprised that she was as intimate as she was. Brandi didcome thru with some nice breast exposure and really shined in themovie. The movie wasn't porno but was still very spicy. There was onereal flaw, a scene in the Kitchen where Wendy Barnet(Brandi Ledford)wasemotionally over reacting/over acting, but it past quickly enough anddidn't ruin the movie. No movie is perfect and I have my rathers butoverall it was a good film and well worth seeing for open mindedpeople.

The shag cube...
That part where they are all on that shag cube underneath the disco ball when we all realize they're going to swap wives but they keep the suspense up until the one girl asks if they should move into the round metal cage, I mean that's where things get spicy like cajun sauce... tobasco spicy like... and the costumes, they never got the credit they deserve for the louis the 19th inspired latex stuff. Three fingers...at once!

not to be a spoiler but
not to be a spoiler but the movie blurb has it wrong; baldwin and swanson are not the innocents led astray, they are the 'other couple'.
17 May 2012
should be steamier
the film should exploit more on sexuality than blackmailing as it will cfreate more suspense.furthermore they should add more drama between the two people as this will make them more eager to try their lust power.

SWF meets Fatal Attraction
Zebra Lounge (Canadian, directed by Karo Skogland) starts out like soft core porn and ends like a Hitchcock thriller. Alan (Cameron Daddo) and Wendy Barnet (Brandy Ledford) are trying to revitalize their marriage. They flirt with the idea of swinging (gee, there's a great way to get your marriage back on track!) and meet with Jack (Stephen Baldwin) and Louise (Kristy Swanson) at the Zebra Lounge. Initially uncertain, the Barnets end up spending a glitter-night with Jack and Louise who seem to have a lot more money and access to hot, grown-up toys than any of us should have. The Barnets find this little foray does get them back into each other, and no more togetherness with others is needed--too bad they forgot to tell Jack and Louise . . .From here the plot line goes down the path of films like Fatal Attraction, SWF, and (going way back) The Hitcher. This is the "I want to be your friend and I'm going to be your friend even if I have to kill you to do it" story line. Jack and Louise intrude in the Barnet's life in numerous and scary ways. Some is believable, other parts stretch. The acting is quite good, production values excellent. As long as you don't think about the details too much, this is a pretty good flick.

promising at the beginning, applies too simple moral message toward the end
Alain and Wendy's Barnet boredom in sexual life sexual is cured by oneand one only swinging experience, although they enjoyed it very much.It is hard to buy that sudden cure. On the other hand the other coupleis portrayed much too shallow and flat. They are yuppies, yet they actmore and more retarded towards the end of the film. We never find outwhat's their real motivation behind their action. Stephen Baldwinacting is great though. All in all the film is formalistic. Plot points are coming one afterthe other in their desperate attempts to shock the audience. It seemsthat their only reason is to make everything more interesting - trillerlike. The ending is very disappointing. Also the moral message of thestory is too simple. Either you are white or black. If you're black orjust a bit gray you'll pay the price.

Better than what I thought...
I caught this movie on HBO one night, and was really surprised at how muchIliked it. Movies that deal with sex are hit or miss. Some can handle itwithout going over the top and there are some that just flat-out awful.Zebra Lounge is of the former. The film starts with Alan and Wendy, the all-American couple. Theproblem:their sex life is boring. To rejuvenate it, they take out an ad in aswinger's magazine. In walks Buffy the First, Kristy Swanson, and one ofthe Baldwin Brothers (Stephen)--playing Louise and Jack, respectively. After their first time swinging, Jack and Louise get creepy and almostbecome obsessed with Alan and Wendy. I won't spoil anymore of it, butsuffice it to say, things get out of control.Performances are all solid, with Stephen Baldwin's performance of Jackbeingespecially creepy; it's almost enough to forgive him for Bio Dome. Theending is a little hard to swallow, but I can't come up with anythingbetter. So, it works. The sex scenes are well done -- you may not look at an elevator in thesameway again -- and the direction is good. Overall, it's a cut above most ofthe sex thrillers that come out.

Baldwin adds some suspense...
to this film, which is a cable ready movie, so use that as theparameter to judge it.Kristy Swanson is Stephen Baldwin's wife, they are swingers who comeacross a personal ad placed by a bored married couple (Cameron Daddo isbelievable as a bored sales executive). There are a few artful scenes in the beginning, which slowly degenerateto predictable, but then the couple begin to pursue Daddo and his wife,as well as their children. They pop up at a birthday party, buy them aplasma TV and move in to the vacant house next door. There is an amusing scene where Baldwin says he and Louise (KristySwanson) are committed to the relationship and want it long-term,apparently swingers "going steady" to avoid the possibility of HIV,other complications.Overall it is entertainment, worth watching for Baldwin as the villain.5/10.

Wasnt 12 bad
My wife and I watched this last night. All in all it is a good movie. You do get to see more flesh than previously mentioned. Brandy Ledfordshows off what she has got, but she is the only one. However, she ishot enough to save the movie if that is what you are looking for. Yousee a lot more than her 3 seconds in Demolition Man ("Oops wrongnumber" scene)Yes this is Fatal Attraction for swingers. Stephen Baldwin is about asgood as he was in Sliver, if that says anything.I would never buy this movie, but my wife and I agrees that next timeit is on HBO, we will do our best to tape it.

The story was good, but it wasnt executed right
I just came across this video over at Hollywood Video and it lookedreally interesting, I love Kristy Swanson as well, so I figured to givethis movie a look. I think all can agree when I say, it's also nice tohave a good erotic thriller here and there. While I actually liked thestory, because actually it was a unique and had high tension, it justdidn't seem like it was well shot, like it was just a B-Movie thatdidn't get the attention it deserved.Wendy and Allen are a boring married couple who have majorly lost thespark in their sex lives. When they decide how exciting it would be tospark up the marriage by having a swap with another sexy couple, Louiseand Jack, it does that, Wendy and Allen have never been happier. Butwhen Jack and Louise don't know how to back off and start to involvethemselves in Wendy and Allen's lives, including their children, thingsare taking an interesting turn for the worst.Like I said, it's not really a bad movie, or TV movie? Yeah, I'm sosure they could show this on TV, but I thought that this just could'vebeen better in some ways. But I really enjoyed Steve Baldwin and KristySwanson, they really brought a lot of creeps onto the screen, it wasthe other couple that could've done more and this movie would've beenpretty good. But just always judge for yourself, that's what I like tosay.5/10

This is a great movie!!!!
The whole cast is just as good as any A list film. There are very tinyspoilers that you can't really notice as long as you aren't looking forthem. Stephen Baldwin is insanely fantastic! And Kristy Swanson is verygoodtoo.

If you play with fire, then dont complaint yourself in case you burn!
The influence of Attraction Fatal around this script is much more than obvious. The erotic atmosphere, the sensuality and senses` delight is convincingly expressed and sumptuously suggested. The main problem has to do with this weak script that simply cannot escape fro the anecdotic archetype and makes of the empire of the senses a warning advise. There were so many roads to explore about it; but...

Ho-Hum Canadian Thriller
Kari Skogland, who previously directed the throw-away Nazi teen drama "White Lies" with Sarah Polley, directed "Zebra Lounge," an unsuccessful, run-of-the-mill take on "Fatal Attraction." A married couple post an ad in a swinger sex column to rekindle the dying flame of their marital sex life, getting response from hundreds of people, including two seemingly-normal pyschotics (Kristy Swanson and Stephen Baldwin). The film starts off as a look into the life of a failing marriage, turning into a boring, predictably unambitious thriller. Canadian cinema has seen better days.

Bottom of the barrel drama
In "Zebra Lounge" a married couple decides to try "swinging"and gets more than they bargained for. Although offeringanokay complement of second-tier acting with the emphasisondrama over sexsationalism, "ZL" has the look and feel ofasoap opera with a naive screenplay, too many plot-holes,andobviously scripted characters. Very ordinary stuff forhardup channel surfers.

Are Swingers Scary?
Carnal obsession is a subject that if treated as a serious subjectmatter can generate some truly inspired films. This, unfortunately, is not one of them. A premise that in essence isintriguing -- a couple decide to spice up their lives and contactanother couple who introduce them to the lives of swingers and get morethan they bargained for -- collapses into an incomprehensible messthat's supposedly a "thriller," maybe because Stephen Baldwin portraysa character who's a psycho for no other reason than the script makeshim as such and in one scene kills someone while uttering smug lines ala Jack Nicholson (Why? Well, in a "thriller" there's always a murder, right?).Blame it on the screenwriter for having seen too many "Cinemax AfterDark" films and trying to make some sense out of beautiful bodieshaving sex for no other reason than to expose flesh and toned bodies. This is exactly how this movie feels like, with the added notion thatswingers are predatory and will disrupt your life in implausible ways. There's not an ounce of believability to this story, charactermotivations, or actions. Situations are allowed to escalate to a levelthat is virtually impossible any way you look at it. The dialog thatBaldwin has to utter is outrageously bad: "Come on guys..." "Heyguys..." seems to be all he is allowed to say (which brings to mind thelanguage of characters in cheap men's magazines) while preening histeeth, squinting his eyes, and looking almost pretty. No one elseregisters, so why even bother. It's just sad that the term "erotic thriller" has to be reduced toutter silliness and the requisite violence. For a real erotic movie, gosee PERSONA or DAMAGE. This one? Pass.
