Staggeringly Beautiful but....
I won't kid you, this movie is visually breathtaking and just so different that I really wound up dreaming about it after I saw it - just because it's so new to your mind and so pretty. I can't begin to express how pretty the movie is.That said, this movie was very close to being very bad in a lot of ways. It does appear that Disney spent their money on the visuals and the really good writers were too busy working on Tangled (Four-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy) because there were elements of the storyline that were either lacking, cheesy, or just superficial. The whole club scene with an overacting club owner inside the machine was just not believable and the acting was just plain bad. At the same time, the whole yin/yang, nouvou hippy, my-zen mindset that Jeff Bridges had through the movie also just didn't come across as very real. But hey, that's just me. The biggest issue I had though was that the movie is called TRON (trace program) and is supposed to be a super program that flynn developed to break into and out of anything --- well TRON is a very minor character and he doesn't speak (kindof like the STIG from Top Gear)....really? I kindof expected TRON to do more. Don't get me wrong, TRON is still out there and that's good but I just expected TRON to feature more prominently: he is the name of the movie. All of the shortfalls that I saw were made up by a few things:- the gorgeous sets- the mere fact that a remake was made- the novelty of the conceptI will warn the average person that this movie might not be for you. It is most certainly fanciful science fiction. It gets a lot of stars from those of us who love it but that most definitely does not mean that YOU are going to like it.For the die hards, I really don't have much to add, everything is here from the original, lightcycles, disc throwing, etc.Overall, it's not perfect (mostly because of some of the writing and some cheesy scenes) but it comes a long way from the original.Oh, yes get the bluray and watch it at night with the sound system turned up - you will not be disappointed. The sound is gorgeous also.

My 378th Review Superbly competent visuals and a good sequel
Tron Legacy is a very good sequel - even 28 years later. It tries hardto be better than the original and particularly in the last thirdsucceeds. The graphics and general trickery are excellent - again there aremoments that are taken straight from the George Lucas / Spielberghandbook that really work in the last third, but we found the middlesection lacking - you have to go through a strong beginning, a superbfinish, via a middle section from the time Sam enters the world untilhe meets Zeus that for us was at best OK. It lets down what could havebeen an outstanding film. It is clearly the fault of the script.Overall, Tron Legacy is simply one of the best sequels, if you like thegenre, like the original, or are into gaming then this will rock yourboat - oh, and DaftPunk - awesome.

Step backwards
Well there are all sorts of Legacies although Tron is the least ofthem. How about any number of the latter Star Wars films, particularlyRevenge of the Sith, with it's red, double-ended light sabres, hoodedMagus and Oedipal issues? There's a healthy dollop of Matrix-sequelfetish gear too, especially in the Tatooine cantina, oh, sorry, I meanthat Michael Sheen-as-David-Bowie sequence. Director Joseph Kosinskieven borrows a bedroom from Kubrick's 2001, complete with Baroquemirror frames.Needless to say, all this substitution is essentially to prop up a filmwhose only idea is 'sequel'. It's a complacent project, with none ofthe emotionally aware technical adventure that made its imperfectpredecessor so intriguing. In fact, technically it's also a failure, with a barely passable, plastic CGI proxy for the young Jeff Bridgesand hectic chase sequences over-complicated to the extent of epilepsy-induction by the mandatory 3D.To me the sine qua non Bridges was also phoning his role in. GarrettHedlund is a better Hayden Christensen than, er, Hayden Christensen butstill pretty anonymous. I was delighted to discover that Olivia Wildemanaged to squeeze more out of her role than wearing tight trousers(even these were covered up). She was credible. The script they allhave to chew through pre-dates the retro arcade games on show. No, it's all a bit of a bore. Perhaps if the early Cillian Murphy cameohad turned out to be significant it might have had the chance to catchfire. Or even light up just a little more than a Dutch sex shop sign.3/10

Got to see it.
From Brotherhood in the first Tron, Legacy is about a father son bond.A fun one. I went to see it with out glasses. IT was just as fun forme. IT is amazing how they refined all the original ships in this newone. The scenery is so rich and logical comparing it to the old one. But, not as revolutionary. I know it is probably said a million timesthat Tron from 1982 was ground breaking in animation. Well indeed itwas. In legacy I think we expect it. Though Kevin Flynn to me lookedlike a play station graphic. There was nothing really that I didn'tlike. There was a nice strong story. How it lead up from the OriginalTron made it more fun for me considering until this movie I felt likethe only one who liked Tron and, when i would ask "did you see tron?"people normally gave me clueless shrug. This movie is for the newergeneration and hopefully get drawn towards the first. I don't want togive too much away, just please watch the original. Maybe some of youwill not like the graphics, but it was the best of its time and it is agem. Turn off the judgmental brain and enjoy the story too.

Tron Legacy lives up to all expectations and surpasses them with blinding speed, grace, agility, dazzling imagery and heart warming soul.
I loved the references to the original movie. I only wish more peoplein our small town "got it".There were moments throughout the picture where I wanted to stand upand cheer.Does no one applaud during movies anymore?, or maybe the problem isjust where we live.I wish Cindy Morgan, Dan Shor and Bernard Hughes could have made even abrief cameo. Bernard (Walter/Dumont) will be sorely missed. I hope infuture sequels they will be able to re-rez him if only forold-times-sake, in the same manner they paid tribute to LawrenceOlivier in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. The music is nothing less than astounding. Yet they still hearkenedback to the original electronic score, only brought up to date 10 timesover. My one wish would have been a few more characters from the original, but I'm glad they passed the torch to Garrett Hedlund (Sam) who is sureto appeal to today's audience, and carry on the legend. In summary:As a life long TRON expert, Tron Legacy lives up to all expectationsand surpasses them with blinding speed, grace, agility, dazzlingimagery and heart warming soul. The thin ice that Disney walked out on back in 1982 has resurfaced as aflawless sculpted crystal, a masterpiece that is sure to touch theinner being and imagination of generations past, present and future.I hope it doesn't take another 28 years for the next one. Even so, if that be the case, they will find an 81 year old man, standing there waiting for them..

Graphically beautiful, average story
Why must every American movie that has another world as a subjectresort to the same story about the evil oppressor that the hunky malemust defeat in order to bring freedom and get the girl (and surpass hisfather)? Does the entire country have an oedipal complex? There is moreto life than this, wake up, for crying out loud! The movie has a beautiful design. The only issue I have, graphically,is with the 3D animated character that is representing young Flynn andCLU. It looked so obviously fake that it felt completely out of place. The main character is clueless as to acting any particular emotion, theentire movie is made (pun intended) by Jeff Bridges. He brings to lifea high tech version of The Dude that is just impossible to dislike.Olivia Wilde is cute as always, especially in tight mate black clothingthat has white stripes shining (a modern hard cut design version of theclassic shiny leather costume, I guess). The only thing left here is the sound. It was loud! I was not watchingin a theater and it felt loud no matter how low I would place thevolume bar. I imagine in a cinema I would have gone with the ear plugs.Other than the volume, though, it was very fitting to the film.Bottom line: enormous quantities of cash went to the marketing anddesign of the movie, making it a perfect Barbie production. Too bad thestory was made up by Ken.

From visionary to recycling (tv)
The original Tron was an iconic movie for me because as Wargames, it'sa movie about computers when those machines started to get mainstream. Now that we got Windows or Apple for all, the web, wirelessconnections, everything seems to have been invented. Thus myexpectations were high for this sequel and as I watched the trailer inImax, i was terribly unhappy : gone the white, virgin background andworst, there were clouds and rain ! Weather in a computer world isstupid thus I waited patiently its first broadcast on TV.Now, i saw it, without subtitles so the story was rather unintelligiblefor me (hard of hearing!). In all cases, the plot seems ratherridiculous with a CGI young Bridges not looking very alive and aeffeminate bad guy ! As long as the action takes place in the grid, iadmit that the production is visually stunning but as soon as theyleave for the cloudy mountains (!), it loses its interest. The firstTron was a pit of originality and creativity while with this sequel, igot the feeling to see a best-of the science fiction movie : 2001 forthe lair of the old Bridges, STTMP for the dark and blue settings, StarWars for the aerial fight and father/son relationship. This sequel isnot better or worst than the actual Hollywood production : it's only asequel, filled with CGI and a big hole for story and consequently, thefun. The only very good thing here that keeps the original spirit is thescore of Daft Punk : totally in advance of the classic soundtrack, it'sa wonderful music, highly speedy and energetic, more than the pictures!

a disappointment
This was not an awful movie but I would not recommend this to myfriends. Honestly, this was the first movie that I have ever fallenasleep during the show (a result from the long day I had, a boringplot, and the constant dark visuals of the gaming world i assume). The plot did not make much sense. I am not sure if it's because Ihaven't watched the prior movie Tron, but the background was not fullyexplained at all. Having said that, I must admit I did fall asleepsometime during the show, hence I may have left out some details. Therelationship between the grid, the programs and the users was notclearly mapped out. While watching the movie, I had to assume the gridand the programs were similar to that as the Matrix just so I couldcatch up. Yet there were still a lot of fundamental things that did notseem clear to me at all. For example, weren't the users supposed to bethe ones controlling the programs to fight instead of the programsdoing all the work themselves? There are some things which I should praise - hence the 4/10 instead ofa 2/10. The effects were awesome. I did enjoy watching charactersturning a bar into a different vehicle each time, it seemed so real. The music was also good. So, if you just want to witness the amazing effects of the movie, byall means watch it in the theaters as I doubt it would be as great whenyou get the DVD. It's worth it. But if you are expecting anything otherthan the effects, please don't have high hopes.

Spectacular. Dont miss it.
TRON LEGACY exceeded our expectations 100%. Ignore any and all negativereviews you have read or heard about, especially from Roger Ebert. After he bad mouthed the hilarious classic Tom Hanks comedy, The MoneyPit, back in the 80s, I stopped listening to him. If you are a fan ofthe original, as well as the sequel game, TRON 2.0, you will absolutelylove the movie. Even if you haven't seen or played the original film orTRON 2.0, you will still come out of viewing LEGACY with a big grin. The 3D is perfectly done, making the world very realistic in feel. Likein the original, the Light Cycle race in the arena is spectacular andbeautifully done. I could not stop grinning through the whole thing, itwas so enjoyable to see. The acting is top notch. Sure, there are quietmoments with somewhat lengthy story telling, but it never hurt the flowor film IMO.I've read on a lot places that everyone loves the soundtrack by DaftPunk and I have to put my positive vote in with them. They created amasterpiece for the killer soundtrack. Even the two 80s songs used inFlynn's arcade before Sam goes into the digital world were chosenperfectly for the lyrics of the moment. There are tons of homages to the original TRON film that any fan willpick up on, both audibly in the sound effects and visually. My all-timefavorite homage, though, isn't part of the TRON universe at all, butfrom "2001: A Space Odyssey". Flynn's hideaway is entirely based on theset at the end of 2001, with the square-panel lit-up flooring and whiteVictorian-ish furniture. Even the sounds of the silverware clicking inthe quiet room during the meal is reminiscent of when Dave is eating inthe sterile, minimalistic space from 2001. Being a BIG fan of thatmovie, it just made me smile to see that. The biggest jar-dropping situation of the whole film is in thetechnological advancement in CGI, especially with outstandingperformance of Jeff Bridges digital double, Clu. He is perfect in everydetail. You will never believe that he is a digitally de-aged Bridgesusing the same, but better, program system from the film "The CuriousCase of Benjamin Button" to make Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett bothyoung and old.It was also nice to see that the makers of the film did not totallyignore the original movie's prequel game, TRON 2.0. Legacy's world is asort of Galapagos environment within Kevin Flynn's advanced, but small, computer system below his arcade that has been sitting their for 20years without any outside connection to the Internet. So, the story isa stand alone situation that isn't connected to the former prequel gamethat dealt with Alan Bradley and his son, Jett. That digital worldinvolved the ENCOM computers and Internet. But, the makers of LEGACYdid incorporate architectural elements from the game into LEGACY, whichwas nice to see. Go see TRON LEGACY when you can, especially in 3D.Forget IMAX 3D version unless you really want to spend a lot of moneyand have your eardrums blown out. The Mini-Max screens are not trueIMAX anyway, just big widescreen movies with a way too loud soundsystem. True IMAX would be on the huge screens they have that make youfeel like your in the movie's world. The normal Disney 3D screening isexcellent. The only thing I did not like was the ticket price. Up torecently, I used to pay $7.50 for a matinée showing. It's now jumped to$12. That is way to pricey for matinée.

Best 3D Ever
This review is from: Tron: Legacy (Four-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy) (Blu-ray) This is without a doubt the best 3D experience I've seen so far on a home TV. The 3D was flawless. I never saw any ghosting. If you want to see excellent 3D on your TV, get this movie. In my case I have a 55" Samsung 8000 and was using a PS3 for the bluray player.Actually I did see some ghosting -- on some of the 3D movie trailers that are on the disc! It just proves that these other movies just aren't producing quality 3D movies like Disney did here with Tron: Legacy.

Bret Fetzer can eat me.
This movie feels awkward at first because longtime fans are not sure what to expect. The cult fanbase of Tron should not go into this expecting another groundbreaking event, but that doesn't mean it's all bad. The movie spends a lot of time updating us with what's happened at ENCOM over the past 28 years. Later, when you see those light cycles racing in 3D with surround effects, you feel that same electric wonder from 1982! Yes, the acting is cheesy and much of the storyline is rehashed (get in, get out), but the visuals, music, and morals of this new chapter are what make it worth watching. The first Tron was made when personal computers had positive potential, before greed plagued them with viruses and careless developers. This continuation recants the naivety of its prequel as Kevin Flynn now proclaims that perfection is already in front of us: family, nature, and freewill. Tron Legacy is simply a fun, stylized, and ultra-cool reminder that computers are tools, not a substitute for life.

Stunning graphics and awesome soundtrack
At 1 minute past midnight on the bitterly cold night of Thursday/Friday16/17 December, I sat down in a 350 seater cinema with just seven otherpeople to watch the first general release screening of Tron Legacy inHuddersfield, England. I watched the original back in 1982 - there werevery few in the cinema in Colchester where I watched it then - andmarveled at that film. As I left the cinema over two hours later, Iturned to my daughter and said 'Well?'. 'Great' she replied. I had readall the reviews - a very mixed set - but nothing prepared me for this.If you are a computer nerd and want to explain the programming behindit all, don't even begin to think about it. This film is escapism atits very best. Put on your 3D glasses, sit back and just let the filmwash over you. Immerse yourself in the impressive action sequences.Watch the excellent performances from Bridges and Sheen - Hedlund andthe rest are pretty good too. Listen to the Daft Punk soundtrack whichis exceptionally strong yet not intrusive. For Sci-Fi films they do notcome much better. There is a suggestion that the plot is a little thinbut make it too complex and it would detract from the visual and audioexperience. Whatever you do, do not read the spoilers - just go and seeit.

not worth watching
Having seen its trailers, I was very excited to see this movie since itwas announced to possess the best 3D properties, it's supposed to beshot by cameras which are more advanced than the ones used in Avatar.First of all, it's not %100 3D, i.e. at the beginning you receive awarning that the movie contains 2D portions and that it's so adaptedthat you don't have to remove your 3D glasses. What a technologicalimprovement! In the end, it was difficult to judge or even understandwhich portions were 3D... Only interesting part was the about themiddle of the movie where there's this competition with motorcycles.Apart from that, it's quite boring. For me, it was a disappointingexperience...

Most Fun Ive had at the Movies in Ages
So I could make this really short and simply say 'screw the critics, gosee this movie NOW!' but you came here to read a review, so let's doit. I had always known of the original TRON's existence and it'ssignificance to visual effects today, but before this year I had alwaysjust dismissed it as a relic of the decade before I was born and neverthought twice of it. However, that all changed when Disney released theinitial test footage for TRON: Legacy (then tentatively titled TR2N).That piqued my interest significantly, and combined with an excellentViral Campaign/Alternate Reality Game leading up to the film I waspersuaded to give the original TRON a shot. What I found was a filmwith a weak script and visuals that had not aged well, but moreimportantly, there was also a fantastic and interesting concept thatunfortunately had not been properly refined. TRON: Legacy goes a long way towards realizing Steven Lisberger'sfantastic concept into something that is not only an interesting idea, but also an incredibly fun ride. But even by making TRON moreaccessible to a wide audience, it never disrespects the original; ifyou loved the original film you will appreciate the fact that the movieisn't a clean sweep that tries to pave over the original, it is truly asequel to TRON and works very well on that level. It also works for newcomers as well. There's plenty of fan service, but the movie will nevermake you feel out-of-the-loop. If you've never seen TRON, don'thesitate to see this film, you'll enjoy it whether you've seen TRON ornot (although I do encourage you to give the original TRON a shot, ifonly for it's historical significance). As a pure sci-fi/action movie TRON: Legacy is fast, intense, andvisually incredible; it's akin to riding a really great roller coaster, you may not take very much away from it emotionally or intellectually, but you'll want to come back to it again and again. Let's be honest, though, if you are expecting a movie that's going to be as surprisingand intellectually stimulating as Inception or a movie as emotionallyresonant as Toy Story 3 your expectations clearly aren't in touch withthe real world. So on the subject of 'out of touch' let's address some of the commoncritic's complaints, shall we? Number 1: "The plot/script/story issilly." With even the most basic understanding of what TRON is, youknow you're watching a movie about a man who has been trapped in acomputer system for twenty years, and in said computer system there aresky scrapers and motorcycles that shoot walls made of light out theback. You should know full well where to set your suspension ofdisbelief, and what to expect out of a story like this. Number 2: "There's too much jargon in the film/I don't understand whatthey're saying." Come on now, we live in a day and age where everyone*has* to be a techie on some level. The "jargon" in this movie, is, inmost cases, terms that most people should understand these days, andthe more complex stuff is explained well enough within the context ofthe story that you don't have to understand the technical terms that itrefers to, you can just understand its correlation to the plot. Number 3: "The performances are wooden." This one's going to be more amatter of opinion, but, while no one was going for an Oscar here, Ithought the performances were suitable for the film. I believed each ofthe characters the entire time, and I never once cringed at linedelivery. Again, know where to set your expectations; if you'reexpecting Jeff Bridges to give another Crazy Heart caliber performanceyour expectations are too high, however, he's quite a bit better inthis than he was in the original TRON, or, more recently, Iron Man. This film is pure popcorn sci-fi/adventure. It's a film that hasfantastic visual effects, great action scenes, and a whole lot of funthrown in. It's not pretentious, it's not trying to be something it'snot (unlike a certain James Cameron film from last year); it knowsexactly what it is, and if you can allow it to simply be that, it's agreat movie that won't disappoint. It has the sci-fi/adventure feel ofJ.J. Abram's Star Trek, mixed with the pure sense of fun found inPirates of the Caribbean, and it's all tied together by the ratherremarkable concept introduced in the first TRON. I highly recommend this movie, and I definitely encourage you to seethis film in IMAX 3D. The 3D effects certainly shine more brightly(both literally and figuratively) with the IMAX technology, and thenearly 45 minutes of the film shot in IMAX are spectacular to behold. It's pricier to see it this way, but if ever there was a movie thatdemands it, it's this one. Don't wait until Blu-Ray and DVD, don'tdownload it from a torrent, go see this movie in IMAX 3D because it'scertainly the best way to experience it. Rating: A-

Verdict Unforgettable experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just came back from watching this film. Put simply: it is A THRILLRIDE FROM START TO FINISH. Relentless in its execution, brilliantlyacted with a straightforward storyline that everyone can relate to. Ihave never been a die hard Tron fan, but it left a solid impression onme since I saw it many many years ago and I have never forgotten it.Now, this sequel has done it for me as well. This film is the ultimate escapist's dream. The landscape of the cyberworld is PERFECTION!!! Exuding the sense of that other world of sleekelectrons with an underlying reality of being spawned by "the user", Ican't imagine it being surpassed in its visual depth and clarity. Thehigh level of detail in the structures and machinery of craft andvehicles is just eye candy. The GRANDEUR of the crafted world is SIMPLYAWESOME!!! As a 3D film, readers, believe me when I say to you Avatardoesn't hold a candle to it!!! The 3D has been used in this film purelyand solely in the service of the movie, the story and the wholeexperience itself. Unlike Avatar, which was just a few hours of 3Dimages.I was exceptionally pleased by the acting, Bridges and Boxleitner arejust veteran pros, Bridges' double act as Kevin Flynn/CLU should becase study material for acting students. Garrett Hedlund's acting wasspot on, I thought he did a great job as the lead protagonist and thefact that he was unknown (at least to me) was even better. This guywill probably get some quality roles in the coming years. OliviaWilde's take on Quorra could not have been bettered, I loved herunconventional nature and quirkiness. It was great fun to watch. The soundtrack by Daft Punk was a match made in heaven. Every stroke oftheir electronic chords moved you along the breathtaking movieexperience that is TRON: LEGACY. They were the perfect choice for thismovie and and I'm thrilled that the makers of the film chose them tohelp lead the viewers on this cyber-journey of a lifetime. The hugely entertaining action is stunningly and sense-shakinglyenhanced by the CGI and 3D experience. With a fundamental story of thebattle between good and evil, great acting and a visual experience thatyou will wish it never ends, this is a once in a generation film, justlike its prequel. I'm thoroughly glad to have experienced it.Trust me: YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS FILM!!!

User not satisfied
Oh I wanted to like this movie so bad from the moment first effect testtrailer was released. I have original Tron in my collection as one ofthe ground braking moves of our lifetime. This one, sadly, does not dothat. Not just that, it does nothing, none, zero to you as audience.Sure it is eye candy visual effects with the few females in tights, butthat is it. Jeff Bridges tried his best to pull something from thesubstance, but he could not, as there is none. Other cast is just therefor a modeling session in luminous cool looking suits. Oh why I ask? This one with such a pedigree? Instead pursuing a story of computerworld where there are endless possibilities screenwriter decides to gofor all too cliché flavored in this case of father son relation.Utterly stupid that is.One more plus is soundtrack, it is superb. Daft Punk did a great jobhere.

Just go for the Visuals
and the Sound. The Story was not that interesting. Son following his Fathers footstepsand saving the day. No surprises, no twists, no turns. It turns outthat is good, because that way you can enjoy the very rich Audiovisualexperience without "Disturbance".Tron is like a Multimedia Drug. Your eyes and ears will be "High" for acouple Hours. If you feel like, shutting the "thinking" part of your Brain down andswitching the "enjoying" Part to Full Power, than you should give Trona chance.10 Stars for the Audiovisual experience. Sadly! since nearly everythingelse is missing what makes a good Movie, 10 is not the Number, thatmakes it through.Still! good Entertainment.

Only 2 action scenes and thats all you get!
To me, it was a huge disappointing movie because I could only see 2action scenes in this movie only at the beginning and the ending. I wasexpecting more than that. Strangely, the scenes from the first trailerwere not even there. They took the whole part of the trailer out of themovie. I've never seen a movie like this which showed the trailers werenot even in the movie or took the whole clip out. The graphic wassuper, I could see it over and over again but 3D was poorly performed.I had to keep taking the 3d glasses on and off again to check the 3Deffect which wasn't even necessary. It would've been nicer if thismovie is more like a video-game-like-action movie, keeping fightingwith each enemy and going up to the next level since the movie is aboutvideo game.

Tron Legacy
The original film was made in 1982, and it broke new ground with theuse of computer generated imagery which has evolved ever since, andDisney decided it was time to do a sequel with even more groundbreaking effects. Basically rebellious twenty seven year old Sam Flynn(Garrett Hedlund), son of the once world renowned video game developer, has lived for years haunted by the memory of his father Kevin (JeffBridges) disappearing. When he investigates a strange computer signalcoming from the now rundown Flynn's Arcade, and behind one of thecovered machine he finds a hidden computer laboratory, and using itunintentionally transports himself into the virtual computer world theGrid. After arriving he is immediately given a new set of digitalclothing and a disc like circuit chip thing attached to his back, whichalso serves as a weapon as he is pitted against Program players, he isdiscovered to be a User after surviving. He is taken to the ruler ofthe Grid, a digital copy of his father named Clu (Codified LikenessUtility) (Bridges, reanimated to look younger), before being forcedinto the Light Cycle battle, where the behind walls of light candestroy the players, before being saved by warrior Quorra (OliviaWilde). They begin a journey to do whatever they can to save digitalworld, including a visit Castor (Michael Sheen) who turns out to be atraitor in cahoots with Clu, before escaping again. Of course the bigtwist is that Sam's father Kevin is indeed still alive having defeatedthe Master Control Program seven years ago, and living in the Grid forthe last twenty years, and he of course joins them in the quest. Clureveals to his army of bad guy Programs that they have developed a wayto access the real world and he plans to take it over, and so thebattle to stop them is set in motion. In the end Sam, and Quorra makeit to the light which will take them back to the real world, and Kevinsacrifices himself to save them and stop Clu, the final scenes see Samwrap the Grid computer chip round his neck and Quorra and him riding ona motorbike for her to see the sunshine she has never seen before. Alsostarring Bruce Boxleitner as Alan Bradley, James Frain as Jarvis andBeau Garrett as Gem. It is an older Bridges still gives a likableperformance, and with the help of the graphics the younger him is alsoa good villain, I admit his facial and mouth movement wasn't amazing, but it doesn't matter, it is an achievement, Hedlund is okay as hisson, Wilde is alright, and Sheen is a good brief double-crossingcharacter. Also besides the fantastic original electronic music by theFrench band Daft Punk (who gave us "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger","Around The World" and "One More Time"), the real star of this film isof course the superb special effects with the fantastic use of brightneon colours, and the exciting action scenes, such as the engagingchases, in the 3D element I'm also a bonus, so technically it is ahighly watching science fiction thriller. It was nominated the Oscarfor Best Editing. Good!

A Different Disney Indeed
Yes, Folks, it's certainly a new day for "Disney". "Disney" with a bigdifference, I would say. I looked carefully for any signs of Disney"cheesiness, corniness or spoonfuls of sugar". There was a tiny bit ofit, that's why only a "9" rating instead of a "10". But, O.K. whocares? It's Disney with a definite edge, reaching for new territory, going hopefully into a Disney "New Age". Techo music by Daft Punkhelped (a lot). Amazing, new, mind blowing special effects (the 3-Dworked). The Matrix, Bladerunner, and Minority Report mixed and broughttogether in a new way. Amazing translucent vehicles appear and flyacross the screen. There is understated but deep acting by JeffBridges. I liked the "David Bowie" character. The Villain was a realvillain. The circumstances and plot of the movie were futuristic andtimely. Hey, Interjections of Zen philosophy, great! There are GreatMartial Arts moves with Discs! A strong and intelligent women characterfights alongside our hero. Our Hero was real. An upbeat and amazingending, displaying a coolness which was not the usual Disney stuff. Iwill see it again, so will you. The critics don't know what they aretalking about.
