Both Surprised, and Pleased, that this Plan Came Together...
Being a fan of the original series, I went in to the film adaptationwith cautious anticipation. I knew it would be different from the showin some cases (i.e. there would be a death toll, whereas death rarelyhappened on the show), but I hoped there was enough glimmer of the showfor it to be passable, and that the cast at least did a commendable jobin their roles. But all my worries were out the door within the firstten minutes, as this proved to be everything I'd hoped for, and more."The A-Team" is, without a doubt, the best adaptation of a TV show thatI've seen! It delivers almost everything from the show: fun,over-the-top, exciting action sequences, great banter between the fourmain characters, and a strong storyline to follow, with a few twistsand surprises in store. The four main leads (Liam Neeson, SharltoCopley, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, and Bradley Cooper) fit thecharacters perfectly, while the supporting cast does a commendable jobas well. While it does have a slight darker tone than the series, thefilm is overall a thrilling, and well-made film version of one of theEighties' greatest shows! Fans of the show, and fans of great actionfilms, will find much to love with "The A-Team!" As Colonel Smith isfond of saying, "I love it when a plan comes together." And this onecomes together perfectly! Grade: A

If you love a good classic American movie you have to watch the A-Team
I began to watch this movie at four o'clock in the morning with a bunchof friends not expecting much except maybe to see the inside of my eyelids by the middle of the movie, but man was i wrong. From the verybeginning when one of my favorite actors, Liam Neeson, is introducedalong with the rest of his team with a stunning action packed openingto the end when your mind is twisted in so many different directionsfrom the ridiculous solutions these guys come up with, you can't keepyour eyes off the T.V. This movie doesn't just have some of the bestactors in show business right now like Jessica Biel and Bradley Cooperbut it also keeps you visually and mentally entertained at all times. If you like movies like Ocean's 11, The Bourne Trilogy and James Bondbut want a good laugh while you watch it I recommend "The A-Team" as amust watch movie. Its an easy movie to sit back and watch with a bunchof your friends eating pizza and just a little spoiler alert, if youras big as a fan of "Braveheart" as I am you will love the littlereenactment Murdock puts on near the end of the movie.

Overall, good movie
First of all, I would have given this a 7.5 if I could, gave it an 8 toboost it up a bit since the reviews I read that gave it a low readingdidn't seem to have general reasons why they didn't like it, but justbased it at the same time. I was born in !984, so, I was just becomingmentally able to comprehend television when the final season ended.Tho, I loved it as a kid growing up watching re-runs.Starting with the Con's:-Didn't like they didn't stick to the show's storyline I didn't likethat they killed off General Morrison the way they did especiallysince, if I remember right, he was the one who was suppose to savethem. I do wish they kept Lynch as soldier instead of CIA, ultimately, that part didn't bother me, I think because ultimately, he was stillgoing after the A-team.Ultimately, the was storyline they had withMorrison changed the entire storyline, including their sentence toprison.-CG The CG in a couple places was bad because of how clearly you cansee it. The entire movie wasn't like this.-Reality I doubt they could do a couple of the things they did in themovie in real life such as the way they flew the medical helicopter andthe Abrams tank scenesPRO's of the Movie: -Modern twist: Being a Iraqi veteran myself, I didlike they had the A-team as Iraq veterans as well. I personally thinkit also helps with today's audience since a good portion wasn't aroundwhen the show originally aired. Also, CG wasn't big back then, so, eventho some CG was cheesy, overall, it still helped.-Storyline twist Not thinking about the original storyline, thestoryline they did have was decent, I did not expect what happened withMorrison after his truck blew up.-Murdock: I loved how Murdock was portrayed in this movie, I think theydid a great job showing how "crazy" he is and showed how good of aPilot he was. I think this really helped me get into the movie.-B.A. I did not think going into the movie Rampage was going to dogreat. Even though NO ONE can replace Mr. T, I think Rampage did agreat job portraying a tough guy who was afraid to fly-Face and Hannibal: I didn't know what to expect from them, they didnot disappoint because the Liam Neeson and Cooper seemed to really getinto character-Impossible: Even tho the Abrams tank scene and Medical Helicopterscene didn't seem realistic, part of the reason people see movies is ithas the potential to release peoples imagination and lets people seethings they wouldn't see in real life.-Flow: overall the movie did flow together, I felt the plot wasn't allover the place and random, the scenes all came together

much better than expected
This review is from: The A-Team (+ Digital Copy) [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) This movie is action packed starting from the beginning. I did not see it in theaters and was pleasantly surprised when I finally got to see it. Blu-ray transfer is as great as ever.

Will not load on my blu-ray player...
I actually like the movie, but I have went through 5-6 copies of this movie, and it will not load on my blu-ray player... The very first copy I got played the first time, but every time there after (and every copy since) reads "load" then "home", and then a counter/timer reads from "0.00" to "0.07" and freezes there... I just updated the firmware on my player, and still it will not work... I will not buy this title again, at least not on blu-ray...

If youre going to adopt a TV series to the big screen, this is how you do it!
Based on the popular, fun, hit TV series of the 1980's, LIAM NEESONstars as HANNIBAL, who leads his team on a secret mission to foil theplot of some bad guys only to have the person that gave them theseorders murdered. On the run, they try to prove their innocence whiletaking out the bad guys that framed them, led by the diabolical COL.LYNCH (PATRICK Wilson) while trying to avoid the U.S. army & any otherlaw enforcement that attempts to bring them down. If one thing could besaid by the time the A-TEAM ends, it's this, "Now that is how you adopta TV series to the big screen!" with a sense of fun, good casting, excellent direction, fantastic stunts, non stop & exciting actionscenes & several cool plot twists! In what so easily could have becomejust another R-rated raunch fest, the A-TEAM wisely avoids going intothis territory & instead focuses it's attention on creating the bestplot twists, characters & action scenes it can come up with. The filmis a little edgier than the TV series, with some (but not much) coarselanguage, over the top action scenes & many deaths (in the TV series, the team always tried to avoid killing the enemy, here they blow themaway) the films bigger budget also allows for the film to show usbigger stunts, bigger explosions & heavier, more violent fight scenes(where the series was more family oriented & the violence toned down &lack of budget to pull of some truly spectacular explosions & stunts)the cast chosen for the roles also do fairly well & that's another ofthe films big pluses, the actors are well suited for the roles &believable. Prior to the films shooting, when I heard they were makingthe film, I was badly worried, wondering if Hollywood was going tochoose a suitable cast that could fill the original actors shoes orwould they try & cater to the younger crowds by casting guys all intheir early twenties? Would the film focus on the action plot &characters? or would the film be loaded with crude humour, lame sexjokes & nudity? (All the things that Hollywood sadly did in creatingthe stomach churning awful, DUKES OF HAZZARD 05' based on another fun,hit family oriented show TV series) Thankfully my fears were laid torest by the end of the film & it's fun to watch the newer actorsinteracting & seen in the same frame as the older actors from the TVseries! But am I the only one that thinks JESSICA BIEL was miscast asFace's love interest? Highly recommended for fans of the series. If youloved the series, you're sure to love the movie, in fact I am a hugefan of the series & I myself wound up loving the movie much more!**** stars

A Scale of 1 to 5, I give it an eh
I never saw the television show so I think that hurt my enjoyment of the film. The A-Team throws a crew of unruly Army Rangers together to play outside the normal parameters of military engagement. This sets them up for betrayal and double crosses. The movie stars, Liam Neeson, Jessica Biel, and Patrick Wilson among other no-namers. It's one thing when you're an actor like Neeson and come out with other excellent work leaving you with the enjoyment of these fun films. It's another thing when you're Biel and Wilson and you have to make these films because no one else will hire you. After one of the secret missions ends with the death of their commanding officer, the A-Team is disbanded and sent to prison. They know they've been framed and it's their job to break out of jail, determine who it was who set them up, and exact revenge. The movie is full of semi-cool eye candy special effects and unbelievable action sequences. Most of the character development would probably make more sense to me if I had seen an episode of the original show. This is just fine for a rental or even better if a friend lets you borrow it. Don't bother with a purchase.

The Z Team
I have just returned from a screener and all I can say is that is themost board I have ever been in my life. It was awful. I had moreentertainment in the theatre in moving from place to place in my seatso my ass would not go numb than I did form anything on the screen. It has absolutely zero connection to the original series or material. The characters are completely different in every way. The violence andprofane language do not pay any homage to the series. In fact, the only thing this has in common with the old series is thename of the movie and the characters.I personally see this bombing at the box office and rightly so. Thehumour is not humorous, the action is generic Hollywood crap and how onEarth they managed to get Liam Neeson in this beggars belief.this is Hoolywood trash at it's worst.

The A-Team
I really liked this movie as well, I am not actually writing a movie review I just want to know when will it be released on DVD? The Karate Kid came out the same Friday and it was already released on DVD. I am constantly getting emails from Amazon.com about Pre Ordering and yet it doesn't tell me what Tuesday will the movie will come out on.

Went in expecting to be disappointed
This review is from: The A-Team (+ Digital Copy) [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) I loved the TV show and I fully expected this to be a complete abomination as remakes often are. I was pleasantly surprised. They had to change some of the back story but from the beginning to the very end it was a pleasure to watch. The action sequences were throughout and they didn't drown out the comedy which was very important. The cast did justice to the original characters. I have to say my favorite part was right at the beginning when they flew into US airspace. Makes me giggle.

Confusing action sequences - hard to follow
The escapes from Mexico in the beginning and from prison later arequite interesting and amusing. But then it gets bad.Unfortunately the action sequences about the engravings were confusing. How Gerald McRaney was "killed" the first time was unclear. Couldn'tunderstand what was going on at the container port amidst all theexplosions. Poor direction and confusing camera work added to theoverall headache inducing mess. The personalities of the A Team weren't that amusing. Not much humor orwit in the dialog. Mr T was better. The TV series cast had more charm.Bradley is his usual self with no interesting lines to deliver. JessicaBiel is suitably business like here. Basically the screenplay isn't that good. Plus the directing is messy.

a very bad movie based on a very good TV series
I loved the A-team TV series but this movie is an unsuccessful attempt,it is super noisy, pointless, very confusing and over crowded ...up to 20minutes through the movie still you will read titles and credittexts.the story starts with so called Hollywood labelled bad guys, inthis case a few Latinos that in spite of their greater number they aredefeated by 2 guys, then all of sudden they are talking about goingBaghdad and talking to go to Kabul too and so on,I think movie makingin Holiwood hit the bottom with this one. dialogues are suppressed witha load soundtrack and lots of human ah & ooh,& machinenoises,Everybody's yelling, shouting and speaking in the same timeplease don't waste your money and time to see this movie. Thanks

The A - Team
Listen to this: A-Team is smart, and there's not a damn thing ya'll can do about it.Well, when it wants to be, anyway. Being the product of a time in television when the term "cheese" was still limited to a dairy product, there's a rare dilemma that director Carnahan was left with: How much cheese is too much cheese in this day and age? It's a legitimate inquiry in the face of a fan base that would likely want loyalty to the source material, above all else. Here lies the search for an equilibrium that most directors have the benefit of ignoring for the majority of their career; you'll see people working with extremities, certainly, but nobody has the gull to ask for the best of both worlds when the budget and the namesake are on the line. Here, both are susceptible to permanent damage if the right balance ISN'T found.Fortunately, Carnahan gets it right, and with no credence to his track list as a director. It's a welcome surprise. Your disbelief is politely asked to be suspended, and that may irk some who have settled into the standards of contemporary cinema, but the charm will win you over. For those that know better than to walk in with any concept of accuracy in physics and life probabilities, you'll be much more satisfied. But the important factor to understand, here, is that it has enough to appeal to each party, and that's something to be proud of. The wit only goes on to act as bonus filler for a movie that already knows its place and itself. That's not to say that the intelligent script shouldn't be lauded, because it certainly should. Everyone participates in a real bite that every summer movie strives to have, and it goes a long way towards tricking us into thinking that every dynamic plan that Alpha concocts is smarter than it actually is.Moves to make a friendly cast were pivotal in keeping all of this broad-range appeal in check, and this is where the producers hit a home run. Although veteran Neeson seems like a slightly too obvious choice for Hannibal, the rest of the cast joins in to encompass something of a peculiar mob of tier 2 actors that intrigue at face-value. It really comes together on the screen, with Cooper, Jackson, and Copley making names for themselves almost immediately. Jackson definitely had the most to prove, here, and I can only hope that this performance will be enough to write off "Rampage" from his acting resume'. However, the show stealer award belongs to Wilson, who's sardonic, insidious humor in conjunction with his role as the overconfident, screwy CIA agent makes him the perfect antagonist to build off of.It all forms to make the A-Team hard to deny, for it is genuine. There are no tricks or flair associated with this movie, and its honesty should be appreciated. Humility is easy to underrate, but make no mistake, it's difficult to come by in blockbusters as of late.

I Love It When a Plan Comes Together
Hannibal Smith leads a team of Special Forces soldiers on dangerous missions for the military. Their latest mission backfires and counterfeit money plates are stolen by a rival mercenary team. Hannibal and his "A-Team" are framed and sent to prison. But high security prisons, mercenaries, and traitors are no match for this team that specializes in the crazy and impossible. The A-Team, based on the legendary 80's television show are played by Liam Neeson (Hannibal), Bradley Cooper (Face), Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (B.A.), and Sharlto Copley (Murdock). Neeson plays every role to perfection, and this is no exception. Hannibal is the man who always has a plan, brilliant and a bit crazy. Speaking of crazy, Murdock is certifiably insane, but an ace pilot and the team's constant comic relief. Copley does a wonderful job of acting like he should be committed. Cooper is Faceman aka Templeton Peck - the pretty boy, master of disguise and master of manipulation. There's a bit of craziness to him as well, but we get to see a deeper side of him when his former love (played by Jessica Biel) is on their trail. And Jackson gets to play the iconic character of B.A. Baracus - the tough as nails former Airborne Army Ranger who becomes afraid of flying. With over-the-top action, incredible stunts, and impossible situations, The A-Team is much like the original series - if the original series were allowed to actually shoot people. All of the fun-loving spirit, adventure, and comedy from before with a re-vamp of fantastic characters and a fun (if somewhat predictable) story. This was my favorite of 2010's summer action blockbusters. And I was more than excited to own it on Blu-ray, with all of its special features and extras. This edition also includes a digital copy of the theatrical version. Huge explosions, lots of laughs, and plenty of surprises - The A-Team certainly exceeded my expectations. Special Features Include: Disc 1: * Theatrical Version * Extended Version * The Devil's in the Details: Inside the Action with Joe Carnahan * Deleted Scenes * Gag Reel * A-Team Theme Mash-Up Montage * Plan of Attack * Character Chronicles * Visual Effects Before and After with Commentary by Visual Effects Supervisor James E. Price * Theatrical TrailerDisc 2: Digital Copy

A-Team Theater Review
I have not seen the originals, but the new movie is excellent. I had a basic knowledge of the characters and the plot of the older movies, and I thought it was excellent. The over-the-top action scenes really hit hard, Sharlton Copley really shines as Captain Murdock, and Leeam Neeson delivers as Hannibal Smith. A great action film if you're looking for not-too-serious over-the-top nonstop action and humor.

Not a Bad Remake
I am always leery of these big blockbuster reprises of my childhoodfavorite TV shows. So many of them completely missed the essence of theoriginal show when they tried to update the characters and situations. The A Team is a TV show I haven't watched in probably 20 years, and soa lot is hard to remember, but I was fairly happy with this rendition.I was really disappointed to see the van get destroyed in the beginningbut then I realized this movie is just the beginning of the story. Theplot did pretty well at being unpredictable with twists and at the sametime lead you through the story of how the team formed. This film isn'treally anything new, but then again, how could a remake be completelynew?

Gets an A for effort.
I had to try hard to displace my prior knowledge of this movie at firstto enjoy it. If you can do that? You will find this movie prettyentertaining. But if you can't? Well... It's not like they took it easyon the fan's of the old series. Some "futuristic" references ate at mewhile watching the movie. Example's like, the a remark towards Backstreet boy's and another about the Blue man group. Not certain, But Ithink both didn't even start up till around early to mid 90's and the Ateam was set around the end of the Viet Nam war.I think a lot of fans would have appreciated a more closer comparisonto the TV series then we were given. More "I pity the fool's" then thenon existence of the catchphrase in the movie.Even now, looking back on the movie that I mostly enjoyed last night. Istill sight error's that were eating at me. But if you want to watch anaction movie that delivers the big boom and some good laughs you willenjoy this movie. Just don't sit next to a big fan of it or you willhave to except all the yelling at the screen, "Where's all of B.A'schain's!" and " Hey! I know B.A wore a feather earring from time totime. What gives!"

Action packed and witty
Good action movie. I am not a big fan of action movies, but this oneproved quite entertaining.Best scene: the people in the nut house (psychiatric institution) arewatching the beginning of the initial TV series that this movie isbased upon. The scene is showing a Humvee coming towards thespectators. And guess what? a real Humvee breaks right through the wallon which the movie was projected. I thought that was brilliant.Worst part: Jessica Biel's performance. A bit stiff. Also wearing highheels and tight shirts in all this testosterone-filled environment didnot help.Moral of the story: you can't fight the system. A bit of a discouragingconclusion. They keep going in circle, surviving from dangeroussituations and being caught again, never sure who the good guys are.
