Storyline

Plot Summary:

Archeology Professor Robert Burns is on location leading an important dig in the ancient ruins on the Far Eastern Chinese border. He accidentally discovers that the Chinese Mafia, the Tong, is using his newly discovered ancient Chinese artifacts to hide and smuggle narcotics across the border. Robert immediately tries to flee with his assistant and narrowly manages to escape the pursuing Tong but not without a heavy price. His loyal assistant is killed and he is framed with the evidence at the Chinese border by the Chinese military and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. He is locked up in a Chinese prison where he is guilty until proven innocent. His loving wife Maya vows to help get him out of jail. The DEA finally convinces the Chinese military that Robert may be of more help to them outside jail by leading them to the real smugglers. Once he leaves his Chinese prison cell Robert would rather enjoy his freedom back in the U.S. and keep his past behind him, but The Tong catches up to him and threatens not only his life but that of his wife. They threatened the wrong man. Secrets of Roberts past start to emerge as he unleashes his awesome martial arts fighting abilities to defend himself and his wife. Now that The Tong and their drug cartel know who he is they will stop at nothing to kill Robert to protect their own corrupt interests. To avenge the lives of loved ones he has lost, Robert must hunt down, pursue and find each of the Tong members. In a classic homage to Chinese martial arts films, he is involved in intense hand to hand combat including sword fighting, guns, car chases, and other ingenious forms of fighting to mame and kill these Tong members. He deciphers their ancient coded Tong tattoos which leads him to their don, Wong Dai- The Emperor the man who controls an empire of crime and corruption across many borders. As an added twist Robert discovers upon meeting Wong Dai, that the evil man himself has been manipulating our protagonist in order to have him kill Wong Dais own Tong members and thus, secure the ill gotten gains of Wong Dais empire of crime for himself.

Terrible movie

Silly plot to start with, a whole cross nation Chinese criminalorganistaion vs a kicking ass invincible professor who kills each oneof the criminals to save the day. Everywhere he goes, the criminalsfear him, runs away from him, avoids to put up a fight and eventuallyhe marches straight into their headquarter and beheads their leaderwith one accurate throw of a Japanese sword.Sloppy action, fake wirework, CG effects, superhuman strength, we seesSteven Segal tossing people in the air and giving them broken arms towhoever attempts to fight him...Stereotypical Chinese villains eg. deadly Shaolin monks employed asassassins, mythical Chinese cults, gangster tattoos on every gangmember.....Lack of depth in character background and a very very weak storyline.Steven stars as a professor on Chinese studies, which suddenly turnsout also to be a martial art expert with a criminal record? In whatsignificance does his female partner, which the only thing we've beentold is she's a Policewoman from Hong Kong relates to the plot? What ison with the whole Chinese criminal network sitting in the same room, discussing same own boring conversation throughout the whole film untilSteven Segal finds and kills them? This is just a absolutely retartedmovie.....

Not bad

I enjoyed watching this movie with my hubby. The action was good. The story line was good. I think everyone should give this movie a chance.

Damm, you all were right...!

Impressive... I saw all your comments on this site and i decided to rent the DVD. The film look like a cheap old time hong-kong movie, the combats are incredibly funny and Steven Seagal is so funny when he starts teaching us the philosophy of life. At the end, (i accelerated the middle of the movie) i was pleased to have seen such an impressive avatar of what never to do with an action movie.I have a small thing to ask : i like the music in the following scene 21. The Tattoo Parlor [5:11] Could someone tell me what is the band and song name? I think this is the only interesting thing in this movie lol

Seagal plays Seagal...Again

Well, the subject line says it all, doesn't it? At this point in hisplummeting career, Steven Seagal has simply refused to play any role otherthan Steven Seagal. Which doesn't mean he's been known to play other rolesbefore, because in all honesty, I can't recall if he has or not. (My guesswould be No.)Here, Seagal plays Seagal, which means he is invincible. He is the greatest. He is The Man Who Cannot Be Touched Or Beaten. I would wager good money thatif Seagal played a movie where he had to fight God, he would win withoutbreaking a sweat. In the case of OUT FOR A KILL, Seagal manages to fandangle his love ofChinese people and all things Chinese into the movie. Of course it begs thequestion: if Seagal is trying so hard to promote Chinese culture, why doeshe help propogate the stereotype that all Chinese people know kung fu,because absolutely EVERYONE who is Chinese in this movie knows kung fu. Ofcourse, they only know kung fu just enough to take up a couple of secondsbefore Seagal snaps their neck like a chicken wing.Seagal plays Seagal. Nuff said.4 out of 10

On the way to Under Siege 3

Even though he hasn't signed on to star in it, I have great hopes thatSeagal will make a third Under Siege film. I genuinely believe it is theonly chance he has to make anything that is even remotely watchable toallbut the most die hard of his fans.I don't know how I got into watching Seagal. He is not a method actor. Hehas not made a good film in years. That said, his martial arts expertiseisamazing to behold. If you want proof, find his Path Beyond Thought video.Watch that and you can see what this man can do. Read the press and youcanread what this man has been through. Taking that all into account, I cuthima lot of slack.Out for a Kill is not as bad as some of his recent efforts and I get theimpression that he is slowly working his way back up. The key to a goodSeagal film has to be the fighting. Not the story, the characters, thesetting or the acting. Just the action, which strangely they get right inthis film.Apart from a weak ending, this is just a collection of Seagal fights. Heuses swords(Kendo), poles and guns to despatch his targets, not tomentionhis hands and feet(primarily Aikido). In as much as there is some use ofstunt doubles and there are a few close-ups, he is still clearly fightinginthe first sword-fight, and shows off skills that he has not shown forseveral features. This film fails on many levels, but if he keeps slowly increasing thelevelof martial arts in his films (which has been the case ever since thePatriotand Ticker era, not including the excellent Exit Wounds) perhaps he cangetback to a more watchable film. It's not as if he can't do it - Above TheLaw, Under Siege and Exit Wounds are clear examples of good actionmovies. You can slate this movie if you like but don't slate the man. He deservessome respect for what he has done in his life and if you don't like hisfilms, don't watch them. But it is worth bearing in mind that he was oncethe mostly highly trained western martial arts expert and through hisfilms, occasionally, you can see the magnificence of that skill.

Steven Seagal steps out... for a kill

Whereas we mere mortals might go out for a coffee, or out for a walk,Steven Seagal goes out for a KILL. Think about that for a moment.Killing a person for Seagal is quite a casual affair. He's THAT good.Or at least, he was. A long, long time ago. Seagal is these days tiredlooking and FAT. His stunt double does most of his fighting for him. These are the reasons that new Seagal films are so much fun to watchand laugh at. This one is especially bad.*** SPOILERS ***Seagal plays a professor (no really), in fact, "Yale's mostdistinguished academic" for his work in Chinese archeology (orsomething). He's on a dig and some mobsters show up who are using thefinds to smuggle drugs, and one of them steps on a plate. Seagal asks"Who is this guy?" and brilliantly deduces that he's not a realarchaeologist based on the fact he steps on ancient plates. They figureSeagal has uncovered their plot, so a chase ensues where his ugly tokenAsian female assistant is shot in a laughable "bullet time" moment (wasBT ever that interesting anyway?).He gets arrested and the better looking Asian female cop releases himbecause he's Steven Seagal, and the plot has to move forward. So abunch of sword wielding ninjas attack him suddenly at the assistant'sfuneral and Seagal's double fights them off. Here's another thing Ishould mention, this film frequently jumps from country to country, yetwe never see anyone get on a plane. Amazing. And another thing thatbothered me is Seagal seems to have recorded most of his dialogue inpost, because his every spoken line sounds like a voice over.Anyway, the mobsters (who are all sitting around a table in France thewhole time while they disappear one by one, as if they wouldn't getunderlings to do their dirty work) blow up his house, killing his wife(who happens to look like a model, like we're really expected to thinkshe'd want to marry a fat greasy old professor) while Seagal stands outside looking ridiculous in an obvious blue screen composite, and nowit's really time for Seagal to go OUT FOR A KILL.Seagal relaxes for a while while his stunt double kills a whole lot ofguys - wait a minute, I thought this was "a kill", singular? I guessnot. One of them is with this monkey guy who can climb walls and keepsscratching himself. Seagal's fight double is very obvious in this scenebecause he's about 50 lbs thinner and much younger looking. This continues until Seagal reaches the last guy he was out to kill, and kills him in the most ridiculous fashion imaginable.I should mention the funniest moment in the whole movie. While Seagalis in prison, he meets a token black guy (I guess Kurupt and DMX werebusy?), and just as the black guy is starting to tell his story abouthow he ended up in prison, it fades to a different scene. When itreturns, Seagal is being released, he tells the black guy he's a friendfor life, and the black guy yells out "Don't forget me!" And that's thelast we ever see or hear of him!*** END SPOILERS ***The acting in this movie is terrible, which isn't surprisingconsidering everyone is an unknown. I guess Seagal doesn't want to getupstaged by his supporting cast? The direction is equally bad, and madeeven worse in post by two things. Firstly, there is slo mo put inplaces for no apparent reason. We see a slo mo scene of Seagal puttinga piece of paper into a plastic sleeve. Why? It has absolutely norelevance to the movie at all. Also Seagal's opponents frequently slomo, maybe to make Seagal look fast by comparison? Who knows. Secondly, there is the most blatant and stupid overuse of on screen text(complete with stupid computer sounds) I've ever seen in a movie. We'retold who villains are, what they do, and even their hobbies - via onscreen text. It's also not enough that a location hasn't changed andthat it's obviously later that night, we have to be TOLD exactly wherewe are (even when it's a place we've already seen) and what time it is!It's like they payed the text guy for an hour and he'd done his work in10 minutes, so they spent the next 50 minutes coming up with extrathings for him to put in.This film is a laughable joke, much like Seagal, but you should see itfor that very reason. Watching a former star's career plummet so low isa guilty pleasure, especially when it happens to be Steven Seagal.3 out of 10

Out For A Long Black Leather Coat.

The Steven Seagal film collection continues with the smash hit 'Out ForA Kill'. Those unfortunate to witness Ticker and The Foreigner will recognizethis release as a breath of fresh air.OK, that's maybe going a bit too far but considering what I'm comparingOut For A Kill against, this is an Oscar winner. The very second I saw the opening menu I knew this was going to be aclassic. There appears to be some sort of cartoon picture of Seagalwith excessive mascara. Something else that puzzled me was theinclusion of a machine gun in the Seagal picture – that's right, hedoesn't actually ever use a machine gun in the film. If you've everwondered what Seagal would look like in Goldfinger, this image is apretty good indicator. So a little baffled by the machine gun issue I looked at the frontcover of the DVD. Looked like a standard Seagal film with himbrandishing a handgun and lots of fire and explosions in thebackground. Now wait a second, there are some helicopters. Now unless Iwas watching another film (not a bad idea in the circumstances) Out ForA Kill does not actually have scenes with helicopters. So a big roundof applause for the design team there.I nearly forgot there was a storyline to this film, not that you wouldreally notice. Steven Seagal is Professor Robert Burns (nice original name), anarchaeologist framed by the Tong for drugs trafficking or something inChina. Anyway, he's released in the hope that he will lead the DrugEnforcement Agency DEA to the main players. So of course Seagal goes ona killing rampage after the untimely death (didn't know there was agood time but there you go) of his Mail order wife that I think ismeant to be Russian or something. Seagals apparent marriage in the filmseems a bit bizarre. He doesn't really seem to talk to his wife andwhen he does the best thing he can say is 'I have to go to thebathroom'. Not surprising that when his wife is killed there is littleemotion, a trend that has continued since Ticker. (Epic film)Seagal is sort of followed by two particular DEA agents. A Chinese girlcalled Tommie Lei and an American Agent sent over to help. Thenarration seems to be carried out by Tommie Lei from the start thenevery so often it starts again. (Bit pointless) Seagal seems to freelykill about a dozen people, which then leads him to the main boss at theend. As every master criminal does, he puts tattoos on all hisassociates so Seagal can be led straight to him. That's the basic outline of the story. If anyone saw anythingdifferently please inform me because I just guessed all of that or madesome of it up. This film has it all. You have Seagal strolling around with a longblack leather coat beating up everyone. He's sweeps aside all of hisadversaries that include crazy killing monks and a flying scratching, cat sounding ninja – bit like the guy from Versus. Seagal excels in this role. Unbelievably Seagal is not ex-SpecialForces or even a former CIA agent. He plays a reformed thief taughtmartial arts and archeology. (Who says the education system isfailing?).All of the classic Seagal trademarks are here - Wise Seagal words, dodgy camera angles and introducing a new stab in the eyes with hisfingers. Welcome addition is some sword action.Out For A Kill is a big budget film (well it would have to be with theamount of sunglasses used in this movie) that takes the genre by thescruff of the neck and karate kicks it back to the forefront ofmainstream cinema (in this case, just ex-rental DVD sales)This is a superb return to action for Seagal. In terms of Seagal, hereally acts his deadly whisper off here. 'In the land of the blind, the one –eyed man is king'

Out for a Kill

It should be one of those films where by the time it's over youcouldn't name a single character, yet Steven Seagal shares a name withthe most famous Scottish poet so you can't help but remember at leastone. It's surprisingly well-lit for a post-millennium Seagal offering butthis is a mixed blessing. While it's pleasing to see him in somethingother than a face-only Col. Kurtz impersonation, the fact he's(reasonably) well lit merely makes him look like what he is - fat. Thefights are cumbersome and not a single blow impresses.Seagal's lines have been dubbed - poorly - and there's a noticeabledifference in his voice depending on whether we can see his face ornot, and almost everything he says when off camera sounds like it wasread into a dictaphone on a lazy Sunday afternoon on his couch after afew too many doobies. Still, he's not the only one. MC Harvey, a formermember of UK rap collective So Solid Crew, suffers the indignity ofhaving his film debut dubbed entirely by an actor with a more masculinevoice. After they meet towards the beginning of the film he shoutsafter Seagal's character "Don't forget about me Burns!" It's the lastwe see of him.But aside from one bad guy who inexplicably develops superhuman powers, some dreadful CGI and pointless green screen work, that's about theonly amusement the film has to offer. The lead villain is so over the top it's outrageously hammy even bycheesy action movie standards. Delivering lines like "I have decided wemust put an end to this professor" it's the kind of performance thatwould be laughed out of a Power Rangers audition. Having said that, heexplains the plot so many times it's hard not to wish your manager weremore like him for clarity in the workplace's sake.It plays out almost like a video game, with ten bosses being defeatedone by one until the final showdown but I promise that's not as muchfun as it sounds. That final showdown is a complete non-event and anembarrassment even to a film of this quality. It's painful - although not impossible - to watch, and even die-hardSeagal fans will struggle to find anything of worth in this tedious, derivative bore.

The Long Coat Doesnt Hide the Huge Seagal

After buying 'The Foreigner' I had made up my mind to never buy another Steven Segal movie - then I weakened and bought 'Out For a Kill'. I should have followed my own advice. The long coat doesn't hide the garguantuan, old, made-up, lethargic Steven Seagal. The plot was so phoney and there must be something wrong with Seagal's voice because he sounded like a cartoon character. After two movies of long coats, the real-life, out-of-shape Steven Seagal shines forth. The obvious dyed hair (to hide the gray) didn't work. He needs to cut off the locks and create a new character - the martial arts moon has eclipsed. Maybe a hard-boiled city detective who shows the young s***s some tricks?

Yes, its as bad as everyone says

Heh. I won't add much to the caustic comments that have already beenmade, except to say that, while I like mindless action films as much asthe next man, I do expect them to make an effort to provide at leastthe faintest coherence of a plot that actually makes some sense. This film fails even that test. Whether it's Seagal's Asian workcolleague who is murdered at the beginning of the film who is clearlymeant to come from a Buddhist religious background (cf the first fightscene with the fake monks and the various scenes with her fatherspouting pseudo-religious crap)...but buried in a Christian burialservice (!), or the bad guys who send a small army of gun-wieldingthugs to kill off their Bulgarian rivals but, when countered withSeagal's character who is decimating their top ranks, are content touse single combattants using martial arts (none of these top mobstersappears to have so much as an armed bodyguard!), the film makes nosense whatsoever.Special credit for total looniness goes to the scenes in Paris -- Ilive there, and the laughable attempts to situate those scenes in Parisby showing shots of the Eiffel Tower from time to time gave me the onlymomentary pleasure of watching this film (the stencilled lettering of"blanchisserie Chinoise" on the Chinese laundry was particularlyamusing -- the American concept of the "Chinese laundry" does not existin France, although I have to admit that they at least got the spellingright).Gawd.

What a piece of crap

To say that this movie sucked would be a complement. If it were awful, that would be an improvement. It was one of those rare moments when onefinds himself saying, "this is time I'll never get back." Anyonethinking of watching this should quickly consider a lobotomy beforehand so as to ease the mental anguish that it will surely engender. If, however, you are a fan of sitting around, drinking heavily andmaking fun of really terrible movies, this is the one for you. Perhapsa drinking game involving taking a shot every time something is typedon the screen or every time there is a superfluous slow motion scene,or perhaps even a sudden cut to another country, action scene, orcigar-smoking plotting bad guys for some inexplicable reason.90 minutes of film-making agony, with bad (a.k.a. no) directing, childish editing, and over-acting (except Seagal, who if he were lessanimated, we'd be forced to check his vitals). Rated R, for ridiculous

DONT MAKE FILMS UNDER DURESS

If Steven Seagal really was under pressure from the Mob to make this and all the other later disastrous films in his career, I suppose he can't be blamed for putting on the pounds and taking on a 'who cares?' attitude. His earlier films have the stamp of well-choregraphed high action, realistic and slickly done. The plots might be pretty predictable, but if you were looking for a good testosterone charged action thriller, Steven Seagal could deliver. There was frequently an ecological message being delivered about how man is ruining the planet, so a spiritual message was often contained in a Seagal film, which was good if subtly given, but a little preachy if not. The main issue here is that Seagal's first movies were some of the best action productions with a spiritual message tagged on somewhere, whereas his latest ones have all been crap. His heart just doesn't seem to be in it any more and it shows. His Buddhist master may have advised him not to make any more violent movies, but it should have been advice not to make any completely crap ones. I'd personally like to see him do one more really good one, even if his role (given that he's older) was adapted accordingly, maybe something along the line of Charles Bronson in The Mechanic as the hitman mentor of Jan Michael Vincent.

Zero Stars

The biggest waste of 90 minutes. As a big fan of segal flix, this has to be the worst of them all. Bloated, fat and out of shape, segal just doesnt have what it takes anymore to make a good action flic. The plot was horrible, and the action sequences were dull and boring. I mean i would like to have seen somone give segal at least some competition. I would give it zero stars. Horrible, save your 4.00 for a jet lee flic.

Out for a Kill

Chinese crime families from major cities all over the world are unitingto control the marketing of drugs, eliminating any competition(as wesee in the opening regarding a massacre in a Bulgaria strip club).Steven Seagal stars as an archaeologist(!), Professor Robert Burns, arecipient of the prestigious Winthrope award for uncovering importantChinese artifacts. Burns gets caught up in the midst of an attempteddrug smuggling operation with the Chinese crime family using hisarchaeological dig recovering Chinese relics at the China/Kazakhstanboarder as a front to traffic heroine in the centuries-old statuettes. His assistant killed by gunfire, Burns makes it to the boarder, but isarrested for his possible involvement in smuggling the drugs in hisartifacts. Released, Burns has revenge on his mind, but when WongDai(Chooi Kheng-Beh)sends his men on an errand to kill Robert's wife, the scorned professor will surely wreak vengeance on all who took awayeverything he ever cared for. Working with Hong Kong DEA agent TommiLing(Michelle Goh), and her American partner Ed Grey(Corey Johnson),Burns will annihilate each member of Wong Dai's crime family, settinghis sights for the ringleader, who is stationed in Paris.Globe-trotting action adventure vehicle for Seagal has his martial artsBuddhist archaeologist taking out Chinese druglords in Chinatown,Bulgaria, and Paris. Like other 2003 action flicks, Seagal is able tolook good thanks to careful camera angles, editing, and stunt work. Weall know he can no longer propel himself in the air or move across aroom like a gazelle. Good use of slow motion allows Seagal toobliterate opponents in a manner that seems quite authentic. I will saythat there's one sequence, concerning a heavy dependence of wire-fuwhere Seagal's adversary can twist and turn in mid air, not to mentioncrawl across walls, looks positively ridiculous, quite laughablystaged. Like most of his action flicks in the 2000's, Seagal's one-manarmy can go wherever he pleases, leaving an alarming string of deadbodies, without anyone even attempting to investigate him. He can go toBulgaria and Paris without a hitch, despite his house being bombed andwiping out a number of men in a New York City restaurant in front ofwitnesses. Where Seagal is at his best is when he has those fast handsmoving, blocking punches, and landing blows that send his foes hurlingin the air and through objects. There are plenty of guns firing andthugs for Seagal to vanquish, and his Robert Burns goes through themotions with relative ease. The members of the Chinese crime gang allhave nicknames and specific writings on their arms which forms ariddle, for which Burns soon interprets at the end. Well, on the brightside, at least there isn't a kidnapped daughter Seagal must rescue thistime.

Stevens best kick ass flick since Under Siege 2

Don't get me wrong, Steven Seagal has made some pretty good movies sinceUnder Siege 2 came out in 1995, but Out For A Kill completely takes theAikido battling ass kicker to the next level. Steven methodically andcompletely destroys each of the Chinese Tong assassins with awesome skilland coolness, akin to his early 90's days. But I must admit that I foundeven more joy in these battle scenes because the general public andHollywood has written Steven off as a serious action film star; can theybemore wrong. Steven totally dominates every scene he is in, even thosescenes when he is not engaged in deadly sword battles against twosamurais,or snapping assholes necks with the greatest of pleasure. Check outStevenwhen he goes to get a haircut and some Chinese assassin attacks himmimicking the moves and styles of Ray Park playing the Toad in X-Men.Steven has no problem dispensing with the mothereffer. For anyone readingthis, you must be at least a mild fan- please buy this flick. Don't rentit, because you'll want to watch it again and again. Nice flick. Thedemise of the bad guy boss is absolutely priceless, unexpected and veryfunny. At least I think so.Thanks for reading this.Rick Ford, # 1 Seagal fan, over and out.

Best Seagal dtv movie

Steven Seagal is both Out for Justice and Hard to Kill in "Out for aKill."This is definitely the best direct-to-video Steven Seagal film ever. Thatmay not be saying much, but Out for a Kill surpassed my expectations, lowasthey were.Seagal has gone back to his roots, including many Aikido fight scenes, somewith elaborate sword fighting. As well, he has incorporated his Buddhisttraditions into the character of Robert Burns, giving the doctor a morespiritual and thoughtful side. These were both great ideas that give thisfilm the edge over previously released, nearly action-less Seagal dtvmovieslike The Patriot, The Foreigner, and to a lesser extent Ticker (Ticker didincorporate Buddhism and spirituality). While watching the film it is obvious to see why it was not released intheatres. Poor dubbing, weird (not in a good way) direction, and as alwayswooden acting dominate the film, along with a shaky, unclear storyline.Nonetheless, for what it is- a direct to video movie with a low budget- itdelivers action and intrigue that makes it worth the 4 dollars to rent.Actually, I though that Out for a Kill was easier to watch than some ofSeagal's theatrically-released films, such as The Glimmer Man or Half PastDead. On a lighter note, I thought Seagal's hair looked quite fashionable in thescenes where he has released it from its previously ubiquitous pony-tail.Acourageous fashion statement on the part of Seagal, and one thatdefinitelypays off. Of course, it was nice to see the pony tail in some scenes, forthose who feel that the pony tail makes the man. There were also several memorable lines peppered throughout the film, whichwill appeal to H2K fans who enjoy Seagal's quick, rapist wit. They givethefilm a cutting edge over the monotonous banter of some of Seagal's morerecent films. In summary I am pleasantly surprised by Out for a Kill!

With this one, Seagal has reached an all time low.

I know there's really no excuse for renting a Steven Seagal movie these daysbut what can I say? I started watching his films as a kid (I saw his firstfilm, ABOVE THE LAW at the theatre along with all that followed) and Ifigure since I've seen every one I can't stop now. Besides, I thought HALFPAST DEAD was a decent B action movie and I even got somewhat of a kick outof THE FOREIGNER even though I know it was a terrible film. I think I justenjoyed the bad guys (Max Ryan above the others) in that one for the mostpart though. Well, Seagal has reached an all time low with his latest effort, appropriately titled OUT FOR A KILL (a cross between Seagal's OUT FORJUSTICE and HARD TO KILL). Now I'm not gonna accuse Seagal of ever beingable to act but in this one he's worse than ever before. Words roll of histongue like he's hypnotized and void of all emotion. Not to mention thatevery time some text appears on the screen to tell you where the charactersare, the words look like you've accessed the subtitle button yet you'll heara sound like it's being typed out on a computer. If you don't know what Imean, you'll see if you're unfortunate enough to actually watch this one. This was the longest ninety-minute movie I have ever laid eyes on and I evenhad to put the fast forward button to use. What's funny is, I went into this one expecting a bad movie (like I saidbefore, I saw THE FOREIGNER, not to mention TICKER) and got something farworse. If the writer and director of this trash made more than 99 centstogether than some poor producer wasted their cash (ha, Seagal received aproducing credit on this one – way to go tough guy). I mean this is waybelow the caliber of even Seagal's previous bad ones. Poor guy. I don't knowif you're supposed to feel sorry for an action hero in a movie but I did. Hehad to use camera tricks and stand in's to make it seem like he was evenpunching a guy. Seagal really shouldn't make any more movies. Oh well, aslong as he does, I'll probably keep on renting ‘em. They're good for a laughat least.

Older but still looking good

Archaeology Professor Steve uncovers a nest of Chinese villains, who, for noapparent reason, decide to eliminate him. Not having seen any of his films, they make two crucial mistakes. Firstly, instead of sending younger, fitterhenchmen to do their dirty work, they go after him themselves. Secondly, they take him on one at a time. Armed only with his incense sticks, aseemingly endless supply of airline tickets and an uncanny ability topinpoint exact baddy locations from nothing more than a city name, Stevemows through these older, fatter management-type baddies with all thedifficulty of a knife cutting through warm butter. Don't get me wrong.Seagal fans (of which my wife and I are 2) will enjoy this martial artsromp. There is no graphic sex or unnecessary violence (except for thepainfully spouted dialogue, much of which appears to come from Sun Tzu's`Art of War'). As Steve didn't say: "The wise man who expects little won'tbe disappointed."

Generation of Genius!

"Out for a Kill" is one of the most monumental movies ever made. Steven Seagal is a hero, one of the best action stars ever. As a college professor, Seagal is on a quest to avenge the death of his wife. When she died, he had the most saddened-looking face I've ever seen (typical Seagal face). The villains are over-the-top and are even worse actors than Seagal. He went to a man's underground lair and said, "Sei Lo, I thought I might find you here, nee how!" Then he said, "You touched the most sacred thing in my life, you killed my wife. Now you've forced me to dig two graves." Buy this movie right now! It's pure lordage.

The 3 is for the pretty woman

Michael Oblowitz must have been stoned out of his mind and I will beavoiding movies made by him in the future. Watching this movie must belike a bad trip. The perspective is zooming in and out all the time andjumps from one location to an other so often it will make you dizzywatching. Though Seagal never was more than a martial art action hero, good OLD Seagal became a cartoon of himself trying to hide his fatnessin a big leather coat, which hardly ever comes off. I think I saw himgetting dressed in it when he woke up and went out of bed. Excuse mefor not wanting to look at it again to make sure. Probably he became soslow that every fight scene was edited in slow motion with lots ofsmoke and flashes to make it look like a fight scene. He meets hoods inseveral parts of the world that are in a smoke filled room in theU.S.A. the next moment and back in Europe the next. At least the fewwomen were pretty nice although they couldn't really act either.
