Whats going on with Vincent?

Who else finds it interesting that Vincent, the dog, has had 5 ownersand all are inter-related? I can't figure out if that is a clue to themystery of the island or just a coincidence. However, there seem to beno coincidences on this island. First was Walt's stepfather, then Walt, then Michael, Walt's father, Shannon-fellow survivor, now Ana-Lucia,Shannon's killer. Where will this end? It is also interesting thatVincent "takes" to his new owner without any problem. Most dogs haveloyalty to their former owners and will be shy around a newcomer butVincent is friendly almost instantly. Sure he's hungry, but there seemsto be more here going on. Also, how come Vincent never seems to sniffout Walt when both Shannon and Sayid have seen him?

Greatest Show of ALL time!

Lost, in my opinion, is the GREATEST show that has every been made. It's a show about love, loss, evil, romance, drama, action, life, mystery, thrills, questions, science vs faith, happiness, and it'sgreatest and most pronounced idea in the show: characters. Thecharacters in this show are what has driven it to greatness. Lost hasthe most developed, the most complex characters in its huge andprobably best ensemble cast ever to be made in television. It is a oneof a kind show that will be attempted to be copied for years and yearsto come, but what people continue failing to re-create is thecharacters in this show. They are the heart and soul to the show'sexperience. If you fail to make great characters, you fail to make agreat show, because who cares what happens to the people in the show ifyou don't care about them. For those that were disappointed in thefinale of the show, I don't think they were every truly fans of thecharacters and didn't pay enough attention to the show to realize that99% of the mysteries were actually answered in the end. This is the #1show I would ever recommend to anyone. Don't tell me I don't know whatI'm talking about because I have watched all of the greatest shows tobe made and Lost trumps them ALL: The Sopranoes, The Wire, BreakingBad, Battlestar Galactica, Mad Men, The West Wing, Dexter, Six FeetUnder, and so much more. LOST FOREVER.

I am outta here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's it! I am done wasting an hour of my life every week on thisendless piece of crap. Like a lot of you I started watching from thebeginning. A first I thought it was intriguing and well made but I havegrown tired with it. Characters being brought in and then abruptlydispatched. But only after we have had to endure their back story whichapparently has nothing to do with the show or any other characters.(see Annalucia and Mr. Echo) No answers to anything only morequestions. And then, this season. Brand new back stories to characterslike Locke, when we had no answers to his previous back story.Characters totally lacking in common sense. (Just kill him Jack!)That's it! I done five episodes and what have we learned? Nothing! andnow they expect us to wait until February to learn... absolutelynothing! I'm done! You all can keep watching. It will run for 7 yearsand how will it end? Well, you'll be able to discuss that for another70 years because it will be so open ended and so vague no one will havehad any questions answered.Post Script. And I'm not watching the piece of crap ABC putting on inplace of 'Lost", "Daybreak" or what it should becalled..."COPS-Groundhog Day"

Great Show

A friend of mine told me she was going to watch the show, and Ilaughed, thinking it was going to be "Survivor" dramatized. Boy was Iwrong. I caught and encore the Pilot later on and was hooked. Theopening was amazing and pulled me right in, and the show only gotbetter from there. The first season was amazing, despite the lack of answers in thefinale. Season 2 was a little slower and focused a lot more on thecharacter's emotions and internal conflicts, which ultimately fueled ahuge build up to what I'm sure will be a phenomenal finale. This showis amazing. It's intrigue is amazing, the questions it makes the viewerask are deep and profound, yet the show never loses track of thecharacters. This is, however, where my one critique of the show comesin. This show balances too finely on a line...it wants to tell thestory and ask the questions and keep the intrigue going, and thisshould please a great many people (sci-fi fans, "groupies" etc) but tokeep a general audience, people have to care about the characters.Season 2 seemed somewhat faulted because it tried too hard to revealthings as well as show the struggles and relationships of thecharacters, but in the episode "Two for the Road" all that changed. Thewriters seemed to draw all the characters into one moment and test themand build up toward the finale. Season 2 was slower, but still great, even though it seems that it alternated every week for a while, oneepisode being about the secrets of the island, the next being one aboutthe characters and their relationships and struggles (ie, Jack vs.Locke, Locke vs. Ecko, Charile and the heroin and his relationship withClaire, Sayid and Shannon) where in the first season, all of theseelements came across in EVERY episode. To put it frankly, this show is amazing, and will keep me watching. Some of the most ridiculous ideas (or seemingly ridiculous) haveactually worked (ie, the button, the numbers, the hatch, even what themonster actually is) and that had made the show all the moreintriguing. That is a huge accomplishment for the writers, who arereally brilliant, incorporating literary themes and symbolism, as wellas action and theology and science and mystery, all the while, furthering the character development. So, my final statement of theshow is this: Crazy premise with even crazier ideas, all executedflawlessly to make one hell of a TV show that had me glued to mytelevision every Wednesday night.10/10

The S T U P I D ending

OKAY, i watched this show and I LOVED IT, however, I watched all of itin the span of 3 days...meaning I saw the 3 part ending as well. THisis when I got really upset. After the ending. Why in the heck is abcgoing to make such a great show, only to leave audiences wanting somuch more in the season finale? Why did they have to kill off thepeople on the raft and Walt get abducted by what seemed at the time tobe a bunch of perverts? From what i understand of the series, nothingis what it seems. And I really think that those guys may have been "theothers" that the french chick kept obsessing over from the island, trying to claim one more kid. Who knows.Bottom line is, I think that the fact that I watched this thing oversuch a short time span really left me bitter after the finale as I wasexpecting some closure after being given the cliffhanger at the end ofevery episode. I think the pod thing worked. It's the raft thing thatit getting me. Man I really was upset and I guess I just needed tovent. It is a great series and honestly it is a really good show. ButFor your own sake, watch it in doses. Don't nerd off like i did andwatch the whole thing in the span of 3 days. You will only be hurtingyourself.

I am lost in a world where only Lost can save me !!!

This is the BEST show ever !! It has great potential and from themoment I saw the pilot I knew this show was going to be hit. the waythe story is Set up and the ingenious was it evolves with each episodeis just absolutely brilliant; I really mean it, the creator of thisshow is a GENIUS ! Think of Lost as a show where you can watch DRAMA,COMEDY, HORROR at the same time, it combines these aspects in amarvellous way and each of the characters in the show are no short thanoutstanding. it's so nice to see that young actors can pull off a showthat is that good.Forget all the shows you're watching right now, turn on your TV, jumpin and get lost in the BEST SHOW OF ALL TIME ....

Amazing till final Season

Lost was such a good show until the final season. Every episode leftyou in suspense and you eagerly awaited next week to know what washappening. You had a polar bear on a desert island, you had some sortof dinosaur, robotic fishes with Darma logos on... The writers reallydid do a 10/10 job for Seasons 1-5... Then came Season 6 and J.J.Abrams had no idea how to finish it so he didn't.... He quite ruinedone of the best TV shows ever produced because he lacked inability tofinish it, such as his film; Cloverfield, another thing he couldn'tfinish. After finishing season 6 I realised I wasted my time watchingthis show...

We were at the beach. Everybody had matching towels...

I adore this show. Lost has got to be one of the most imaginative, intelligent, intriguing TV shows in recent times. This is a rare TVshow which actually makes you think and talk about it long after you'vewatched an episode. I've been watching Lost since the first episode andit certainly doesn't fail to disappoint. I certainly recognized a lotof people in this show when it premiered, including: Emilie de Ravin(The Beastmaster), Matthew Fox (Party of Five) , Jorge Garcia (Becker),Daniel Dae Kim (Angel), Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the RingsTrilogy), Terry O'Quinn (Millenium), and Harold Perrineau (Oz). Theensemble cast of Lost is certainly impressive. I love the serial formatof the show, every week, the story gets a little more complex and weget more answers to the island mystery. Another good thing about Lostis that this show is character driven; not plot driven. Lost is trulyfascinating, and at the end of every episode you are always leftwanting more. It will be exciting to find out what happens next inSeason 2. Unlike other TV shows, lets hope Lost does nothing butimprove in quality as the seasons go by. I give this show a highrecommendation.

My View of LOSTs BackStory May Contain Guessed Spoilers

100 hours allows not only character development, but full fledgedfleshing out of what Hitchcock referred to as the McGuffin, the premiseor back-story of the show. The HANSO Corporation is a 70's R&D shop experimenting with eitherTRANSPORTERS or TIME TRAVEL, having been steeped in the family lore ofan island with special properties, about which a 400 year old journalwill reveal to rich Mr. Widmore, Penny's Dad, possibilities for profit. The founders of HANSO are descendants of sailors on that ship, theBlack Rock, which crossed a kind of Bermuda triangle some 400 yearsbefore and wound up on this Pacific island whose center is eithermagnetically bound in a warped time zone, or, the end of a wormhole. While pursuing experimentation via a multi layered protocol called theDHARMA initiative, HANSO unfortunately frees up some of the island'smagnetic field, which is encapsulated under PEARL station, one of sixon the island devoted to the original HANSO experiments. Pressure fromthe magnetic field must be relieved every 108 minutes, or the islandmight explode. Desmond misses his count, the field explodes, and justmay have taken Oceanic Flight 815 down with it. Or, the device HANSOwas developing, Transporter or Time Traveling Device, was aimed at theplane and broke the plane up as result of instability of the island atthe end of this wormhole. The island has properties, and/or the transporter device distorts timeas a "glitch". Locke finds himself as he was before being paralyzedbecause the device, after time travel or transport, restores him via aphoto-shop element that corrects "dropout", the decay that occurs aftereach travel event. Jack's Dad is alive because this program filled inthat blank. Rose is cured, Charlie is also, alive in a prestate, afterhis death in this time. Some of the "others" don't age. Amazingly, theyhave memory and are self aware of their "real" state even thoughparalysis, death have been overcome. The entire group of survivors, maybe in altered time, one to the other.Ben has hired Sayid to kill HANSO execs, because he believes the futurecan be altered catastrophically. Faraday is wrong when he thinks onlyconsciousness can travel time. He is moving bodies, and that is whatBen fears, violation of the "prime directive"--do not interfere withthe past.On LOST.

The biggest disappointment of the century so far

"The biggest disappointment of the century so far", this is not reallya fair reflection on the majority of series , rather of the way thewriters seem to lose there way half way through and the way it ended.Felt like a complete waste of time in the end , writers had aopportunity to finish a very compelling story but instead decided tostring it out , cash in and leave the viewer wondering what could havebeen. Series started well, was obviously strung out to incorporate moreseries , ending in some magical aspects. Would have preferred the storyto stick to science based explanations , this was one of the mostcompelling reasons for watching.

Great show because its like nothing else on TV

What makes Lost so good? It's not a crime drama, so straight off thebat its radically different from half of what's on TV. Secondly it'snot a reality show, its not a competition and it doesn't do makeovers. That alone should make you watch it.It's unpredictable, it has a diverse range of characters, a mystery andenough sexual tension between the two leads to at least keep it goingfor another season. The premise has it's limitations, they are on anisland and at some point will probably have to get off thus ending theshow, and it could fizzle out when the romantic subplots are inevitablyrealised. But the writers are an inventive bunch, the flashbacksdistract us from the fact that it's still the same island with not muchgoing on and if Alias (the other successful show of J.J Abrams) isanything to go by, they'll think of a way to keep the viewers guessing.I am hooked on Lost. I recently decided to boycott all crime dramasafter getting sick of seeing various lawyers, detectives, crime sceneinvestigators, coroners and navy detectives all essentially doing thesame thing. With the same two-dimensional characters for that matter. So basically I have nothing to watch. Except Lost. And I hope there aremore new shows that are just as inventive and original.

Once Upon A Mysterious Island...

Every once in a blue moon, you see a television show that's actuallyworth watching. 24 gave us a dramatic look into a rough day-in-the-lifeof a CTU agent, Heroes sent us on a journey with the lesser known, realistically portrayed superheroes of modern America even up toreality shows like Ghost Hunters which let us peer into thesupernatural haunts that invade our world day in and day out. But,coming back to the fictional realm, there's this one particular show ontelevision that truly may be the heart and soul of drama, mystery andsuspense. A show that not only weaves a tangled web that slowly andmethodically untangles itself in ways you'd never thought you'd be ableto see before. A show who's story could move you in each sense of theword. That show, my friends, is LOST.LOST began with an innumerable amount of plane crash survivors whocrawled from the broken wreckage of their Oceanic Flight 815 onto thesandy shore of the mysterious, unnamed island we've come to know andlove. We followed the antics of Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, and manyothers as they embarked on a journey that would send a sane man's mindinto a tailspin. Beyond the dank rainforests populating the island'sridges and hilltops was an evil that couldn't be described, a shroudedpast that had never been unearthed until that day. The story of LOSTtook you deep down into its heart and ensnared you from start tofinish. It explored the aspects of life we rarely consider, fate andtime travel, everything we've seen in television and movies or booksbut never actually thought about. The story and characters formedsomething of a familial bond between the viewer and the charactersthemselves. Every episode, every suspenseful, waking moment of eachcharacter became a fight for everyone involved, on-screen and in yourown living room. Each moment became more and more difficult to wrapyour brain around, and just when it seemed like you were going to loseyour sanity, something clicks into place and you come out feelingnothing but satisfied at the outcome, like you've overcome a battle ofwits.LOST is sure to be one of those shows that will go down in the books as"the Heartbeat of 21st Century television". And now, as it nears itsclosing moments, it shall be sorely missed, but not forgotten.

A Captivating Show That Values Human Life Like No Other

It's no mystery why "Lost" is such a popular show. The story lines areoriginal and addicting, the actors have impeccable talent, and theoverall message is one of the most important morals of all time: PeopleCan Always Change. -The Below Paragraph Contains Spoilers- "Lost" is ashow about several people whose plane crashes on a flight fromAustralia that was returning to Los Angeles. Most of them survive whenthey land on a tropical island, but some do not. The island is notdeserted; there are supernatural things going on, and it is inhabitedby "The Others," a group of mysterious people who are experimentingwith human emotions. Throughout the show, some die while otherssurvive. Now in its fourth season, "Lost," whose episodes have includedcurrent happenings on the island and characters' flashbacks, is nowshowing characters' flash-forwards. It is revealed that six of themmade it back to the mainland. Three of them have been revealed: Jack,Kate, and Hurley. The last three will most likely be revealed later inthe season. The islanders that did not make it back either stayed onthe island or died. -End Spoilers- Overall, "Lost" is one of the mostamazing, well-written shows I have ever seen. The storyline is like noother, and I have a feeling that "Lost" will be treasured for manyyears to come.

...the smartest show ever made...

lost is the best show ever . i think the TV would say "WOW""thats thebest thing i have ever aired. the story, the acting ,directing, mysterysare all amazing. you'll fall in love with the characters from the pilot. the most wonderful thing about lost is how the characters evolve asthe show goes on. probably the only show that each time you rewatch anepisode you'll figure something new .and its the only show that i'veseen that every season is better than the one before it ,every episodeis much better than the one before.this show has the best storyline inthe history of television. the writers of the show are so smart withall the mystery's in the show from time to time they give a hint aclue,or sometimes an answer and that answer is a question it self.if you have'not watched this show go watch it now(you wont regret amoment).my rating 10/10

A Puzzle?

I have to admit I got onto the "Lost" bandwagon late. I rememberhearing people rave about this cool new show, and how interesting itwas. I didn't want to just watch another boring show. Afterall, television now-a-days is quite bland. It seems as if every show has thesame cookie-cutter technique of telling a story, where there's nothought involved in watching. I however have been seeking anintelligent show for quite a while. So, in early 2007 I finallycaved-in and downloaded the Pilot on iTunes. To my amazement, this showwas exactly what I was looking for. To say I was lost, would be verycliché'.I immediately downloaded two more episodes, just to make sure what Iwas watching wasn't just a highlighted 1st episode and nothing else.Again, i was amazed. I went to the store that day and bought the firsttwo seasons, and watched them over the weekend.I cannot say enough good things about this show. Every episode ischalked full of thought provoking delimnas and questions. Everycharacter in this show has a different story, yet they are allconnected but, we the viewer, is left with pondering questions. It isremarkable how each storyline is shuffled around, and inter-mixed withother. Even, the island is it's own separate character, whichinterjects this show with mystery but, not to the point where its overthe top. I also, like how you have to watch every episode, in order. This isn't your typical sitcom, you can't just jump into a syndicatedepisode and understand, you have to watch it from the beginning. The show seems to be an amalgam of many different genres of modernmedia. It reminds me very much of the P.C. games Myst and Riven. Ofcourse, there is the touch of Lord of the Flies/Gilligans Islandalthough, this show is clearly not a comedy and I am thankful it's not.All of this is mixed in with a Utopian/Advance Civilization theme, which cleverly gives this show an almost endless future.All-in-all, this show exceeds all expectations. Please, do not listento the critics who believe this show is boring, or too slow to follow. This is not your ordinary CSI, or Everybody Love Raymond, this is ashow for people with more going for them than just a time to veg-out.

amazingly awesome in every way

I am obsessed with this show, I get completely blown away in everyepisode, and I've been watching since the beginning. The acting isAmazing, as in the writing. The relation ships between characters isreal, not how it is in most shows or movies, it is REAL emotions. Yes iadmit that the show is really out there, and completely un-realistic inthe idea of it, but the show makes you believe it's real. Also, thereis a character that you will be able to relate to in some way, even ifits small, example, i have a friend who (to me) is exactly like Jack inLOST. that makes it really fun to see Jack in the show, because i seemy friend as well. My only thing i need to warn, is if you watch this, you have about 1 99% chance at it controlling your life. but GREATshow, you must watch it

Pitch Survivor on The Twilight Zone with Redemption

My son rented the first season of "Lost" on DVD. So, I've only seen thefirst few shows of the first season (Sayid just walked away from theBeach Group.).Since the series hasn't ended yet(?), I don't know if this isconsidered a spoiler...I figured out the ending (They all died in the crash.) and was tryingto get my son to project the story to its predictable upbeatconclusion. (All these nasty people will find redemption, before theyrealize that they are dead.) He hasn't gotten it yet. He's justenjoying the series, as I am. It's like watching an anthology ofshort-story character studies. The placement of the flashbacks revealing the characters isinteresting, although some characters have advanced more than others. The rock guy kicked junk and hooked up with the pregnant girl, but wehaven't gotten any backstory on her yet. Hmmm...wonder if thatcharacter might 'die' before her?

Lost insulted its following

The premise for this show is fairly ludicrous. But the "simple & fun"pass was forfeited when creators tried to pass it off as something deepand insightful. Every show needs a rule-set for viewers to get a"bearing" on a series, even if that rule-set stretches believability. Aplane at 40K feet breaking in half and crashing with a bunch of barelyscratched survivors might be believable IF those survivors wereactually dead and perhaps in a purgatory of sorts. That appeared to besuggested in the early eps. But when ABC wanted to milk the series formuch longer the creators publicly insisted this was no purgatory, andin my opinion insulted its audience. Then in the final season theyreverse again suggesting it was indeed a purgatory. The series was allover the place and just winging it by the third season with littlepurpose or direction. It's unbelievable especially during later seasonshow many hours/episodes were wasted just trekking back and forth acrossthe island accomplishing absolutely nothing. "Come with me" was codefor "nothing to see here but let's jerk this audience off for another45mins while we make millions".Many of the characters were "LOSERS" in one way or another...murderers, sociopaths, liars, drug addicts, gluttons or miserable oafswith daddy issues. Despite that, most were dynamic and I enjoyed theirback-stories. As well I think the actors did a good job. With manycharacters at some point you either saw some measure of deep remorse orgrowth over the course of 6 seasons. Good or bad, most seemed to OWNwhat they were. This is where the series shined best. However for methe thing that made Jack and Kate so loathsome was that from start tofinish they never seemed to really do so. I truly disliked bothcharacters. The fact that they were propped up as the two "special"central characters/heroes made them all the more loathsome. They wereoften arrogant, condescending or just too self-absorbed with their"specialness". As well the whole Kate/Jack/Sawyer love triangle quicklygrew tired after the first season or two.Jack was a brilliant surgeon born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Yeteven as a grown man with every reason to feel otherwise he still feltsorry for himself, blaming his father for his sorry state. Perhaps heshould try having his kidney stolen by his own father and rolling inLocke's wheelchair for a few years. Misguided moron that he was, atleast John Locke seemed to act with purpose or on faith. Jack was acontrol freak that seemed most often times motivated in the moment byhis fragile ego. He kept secrets that affected the lives of many, yetforced others to divulge information, even when it was personal andnone of his concern. They also spent waaay too much time on hisone-dimensional back-story, which was by far the most boring of themall. To me, he was just unconvincing as a leader, and that bobble-headthing that Fox would often do was irritating.Kate, though arguably justified in what she did to her stepfather, wasstill a murderer. If it had ended with her just killing her stepfatherI'd probably like her. Plus the Rambette thing rocked. However Katekept saying right up until the very end, "I'm innocent". Really? Tellthat to all the poor bystanders that were left killed or maimed in herwake during one of her trifling plots or colossally reckless "to hellwith everybody" escapes. For me, she was the one character that trulydeserved to either die or end up thrown under a jail for life. Asidefrom killing her childhood boyfriend, she seemed to be utterly lackingin any remorse or guilt for who she'd hurt or what she'd done. Overall I liked the earlier seasons of Lost because it was engaging andentertaining. In the end it fell short however because it had perhapsoutstayed its welcome and ultimately insulted its loyal following. Idon't expect a series finale to tie up every loose end, and a seriesdoesn't have to be sophisticated to be great. In the case of Lost itwas obvious the writers lost credibility by changing direction on aseveral occasions just to keep the story going and the cash flowing.
