Not bad, not great
Logan's War is a pretty good Chuck Norris movie. However, it does lack action to a degree. Most of Norris' movies have tons of action in them (and that is what an action movie should have) However, this movie does not have a lot of action scenes. Also, in the end when Chuck and Logan take on a room-full of mafia men, maybe 12-15, is a little unrealistic. The storyline is ok, but I think most people watch Chuck Norris movies to see him kick some "a". I rated this movie a 'A-' for these reasons. However, not any worse as I am a huge Chuck Norris fan!!! :)

Classic Chuck Norris with interesting characters thrown in
This classic Chuck Norris movie has very good guys and very badguys. The young hero waits l5 years to revenge his family's murderand he (IEddie Ciprian) does it with style. I hoped that it was thebeginning of a series on TV. I watch old "Walker, US Marshall"re-runs and enjoy them. The ending really leads one to think of avery probable series staring Logan (Eddie) and naturally, CHuckNorris, the rich retired uncle who knows all the great kick boxerand karate moves, is an excellent back up star and now I have aquestion. Does anyone know if a series was contemplated or if aseries "happened" on TV without my knowing it. 4 years havepassed since this movie. I rated it an 8 for a fascinating plot, greatcharacters including a wonderful stray dog and a little kid and hisvictim Mother. Great stuff. Please inform me if you know more.Thanks. Bettie Magee

Review
OK so I bought this film thinking it was a Chuck Norris flick, but he'sonly in it for a few scenes. Don't get me wrong the film is still goodbut he is hardly in the flick. This is a good film its sort of likeDelta Force meets the Punisher! Basically Logans Family are knocked offwhen he's a child and he is the only survivor, His uncle (Chuck Norris)feels something is wrong and decides to go to his nephew. Logan vowsrevenge! He goes to live with his uncle who trains him to fight andinspires him to join 'The Rangers' after Logan completes his tour ofduty he returns and decides to finish his vow. Here is where the actionstarts. Mark :-)

Logans War Bound By Homor
This is a great movie if you like action, adventure and martial arts! Eddie Cibrian, who plays Logan does a great job as a martial artist and Chuck Norris (Uncle Jake) does a great job of teaching Logan all the moves so that he can take revenge on the Mafia family that killed his own family. Logan see's his whole family get killed in front of his eyes when he was a little boy, he then goes to live with his uncle Jake who brings him up and teaches him martial arts, as Logan matures into manhood, he prepares himself to go back and avenge his family's death. Long Memory... Short Fuse!

Bad badder and worst
Gniazdo and Fridman give it two thumbs burning down. This is a car crash of a film. This makes a root canal without any anasthesia feel better then to watch ten minutes of this vomit of a film. We rather smell a skunk that crawled out of another skunks ass.We hear the silence, we see the darkness, and only you can stop these horrific films. (A force of One).

GREAT MOVIE
It's extraordinary that no one had the common sense to release Logan's Wartheatrically. This is perhaps one of the best action thrillers to emergefrom America's film factory in quite some time. The storyline is touching, without being oversentimental, the acting is everything you can expectfromAmerica's finest and the director should be commended for his brilliantlyhandled action sequences. I predict that Logan's War: Bound by Honour willbecome a cult classic. I give it 9/10.By the way, I'm lying! The acting is terrible, Michael Preece can't directhis way out of a paperbag (here's just five examples - excessive use ofdissolves, corny use of a colour filter, annoying flashbacks, patheticzooming, and the "dramatic" slow motion deaths. He's NO John Woo!) andGod,don't get me started on those stupid sub plots, particularly the (dammit, too late).. protagonist rescuing the boy and his mother from the abusivestepfather. How exactly does that serve the rest of the story... oh yes, toremind ourselves what a hero/nice guy Logan is!? I can say this for it -it's a masterpiece of implausibility. What's with that silly flying kickatthe end.If any of you are have lost confidence in the America action film, may Iheal you with past memories of Face Off, Terminator 2, The Matrix andSteven Spielberg's magnificent Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Imagine if Don Pendletons the Executioner had been made into a feature film.
*Possible spoilers* Of course, it never was. According to urban legend,a mobbed-up studio bought the movie rights to the paperback vigilanteso nobody with similar qualities, in real-life, would get any ideas! Thus, over the years, I've satisfied myself with Charles Bronson'sfirst two "Death Wish" movies; Dolph Lundgren's version of "thePunisher" (better than most people give it credit for); and, now"Logan's War." Obviously, it was meant to inspire a TV series. That itfailed to do so is no fault of the two lead actors. I found Mr. Cibrian quite believable as Logan Fallon. And, Chuck Norris(as Uncle Jake) was his usual rugged self. *BTW, I recognized a couplenice homages to previous Chuck movies. The abusive dad-next-door whofinally gets a taste of his own medicine, from "the Hit Man." And, theFlying Kick of Death-By-Windshield, from "Good Guys Wear Black."*At the end, Joe Spano--as Special Agent Downing--tells his partner thatthe Fallon family's massacre doesn't give Logan the right to act asjudge, jury, and executioner. Well, as an average law-abiding citizen(who occasionally hears about "reputed" organized crime-bosses gettingundeserved acquittals), if I were a juror at Logan's trial forvigilantism, I would most definitely beg to differ!

in the prison of one promise
I beg your pardon for my bad idiom. First, the television series "Rangerwalker" are always too much violent without any reason. In France it'sforbidden to get a gun anyway, that's quite different with the lobby ofleN.R.A.Furthermore the song before the action says with contempt '"thestranger" as if any stanger, in Texas, was a bad guy.At last, ChuckNorrisseems to have an hypertrophic EGO very unpleasant. It's a pity becauseHehas a lot of qualities. It's my opinion, no more.Violence can induceviolence in the life, the real life.I prefer shut up about the hidden"machismo" we guess in the film.

What you see is what you get
STAR RATING:*****Unmissable****Very Good***Okay**You Could Go Out For A MealInstead*Avoid At All CostsLogan's War is a film nobody could accuse of being misleading. You wanted astraight-forward Chuck Norris action film, you got it.Regular Norris directorMichael Preece handles proceedings in an utterly standard fashion, withunremarkable dialogue,an obviously restricted budget, a predictable storyand acting that seems to have been lifted from Disney's The Lion King ,withEddie Cibrian in the role of the Simba character.Completely ordinary, butthis is either a good or a bad thing ,depending on how you look atit.**

Another tale of revenge biding its time
While this has all the elements of another story where a boy sees his familykilled and waits till he's older to exact revenge, this is special becausethere is at least a pretty tight plot and some great fighting scenes, andthe main actors, Chuck Norris and Eddie Cibrian as uncle and nephew, sharea special sixth sense when it comes to danger. The fight scenes are wellchoreographed andshows why when Norris is involved, there is bound to be hands and feet (andbodies) flying.

Comic book antics
This knockoff of THE PUNISHER and EXECUTIONER (and even BATMAN) has a manseeking vengeance on the mob for the death of his family when he was a kid.The aging but still very physical Chuck Norris is the vigilante's "UncleJake," who assists the guy in his quest. Great stunts and shootouts, especially for a TV movie, and something of a throwback to the actioners ofthe late 70s and 80s. Very little blood is actually spilled considering thevery high body count. Might have been a TV series, and certainly with a bitmore blood thrown in it could have been a theatrical release. Nice bit atthe end with Norris dispatching the chief mobster using a method lifteddirectly from his own GOOD GUYS WEAR BLACK from the 1970s.

It had a good story and great fights in it.
It was a good movie that I watched on TV. I watched it mostly because it hadChuck Norris in it. It had a good story line and a lot of good fighting. Mydad, my friends, and I have all watched it and we still talk about a certainmove that Chuck Norris did twice in the movie. I am trying to get anyinformation about this move but can't seem to find any.So overall I would say it is a movie worth watching.

Covers well known ground, but still a great hard hitting actioner
I've always been a big fan of Chuck Norris, but when I saw this film about 2years ago, I was simplyblown away by the perfect combination of well choreographed martial-artaction, stunt-work, andterrific training sequences. It still fascinates me now.I admit that hisother movies have lame stories to exploit, and although there are elementsof cheese and corn in this one too, by the end you'll no longer care. (thatsif you like action movies)Although the story is simple, it is dealt with very effectively, in that theyoung boy, Logan, whosefamily was killed when he was still a child, goes to live with his uncleJake(Chuck Norris). Findingout that Jake used to be a world class fighter, he learns how to fight, andafter joining the armyrangers, the worlds best, then seeks vengeance against the men that murderedhis family.Although Chuck is in his late 50's in this film, he shows off some moveswhich many men in theirprime could never pull off, and you can only applaud when you see how hefinishes off a guy in a carat the end.(I'll say no more, except that the stunt is similar to 1978'sawful and inferior 'Good GuysWear Black')Watch, enjoy and marvel at the brilliance off this film!

Okay, I give up - what is this stuff?!
With his days of theatrical releases behind him, Chuck Norris' career revolved almost exclusively around Walker, Texas Ranger. His extracurricular output (i.e. DTV movies) seemed to consist mainly of favors to his sons and brother, but at least those were still technically Chuck Norris vehicles, unlike this one. "Logan's War" is a film with an identity crisis, wanting to be an action/revenge/mafia thriller on one hand and a quasi-inspirational drama on the other...but without Chuck Norris in the lead. I'm not a diehard fan of the man, but even I can tell that this would've been a better movie if the man featured most prominent only the DVD cover was also the man most featured in the movie. The story: after his family is murdered in a mob hit, Logan Fallon (Eddie Cibrian, Third Watch, Invasion) is brought up by his uncle Jake (Norris) to be a soldier and a man of honor. However, upon returning home as a military hero, he pursues his lifelong ambition to seek vengeance on the man who made him an orphan (R.D. Call Young Guns II)...Not unlike his role in Sidekicks, Norris plays the role of mentor to his fiery young protégé, whom this film really is about. Norris is consistently present for the first half of the movie, and then practically disappears until the very end. The false advertising of this one's cover - highlighting Norris' visage and billing him over Eddie Cibrian - is pretty disappointing: Cibrian is a decent leading man, but even at this point in his career, Norris would have been more exciting to watch. The mixed morality of the tale (i.e. Logan is raised to be a good man but can't be separated from his anger) is surprisingly mature and less black & white than most movie fare tends to be, but it contrasts inharmoniously to the motivational themes of unconventional families and military glory: scenes in which Logan rescues an officer under fire and befriends an abused boy, his mother, and their dog almost feel like they're from a different film than the ones in which he schemes his way into the mob and beats up various enforcers. There's also a part thrown in about Logan being psychic, but it's an unnecessary addition and could've easily been left out of the movie. There's not a lot of action in "Logan's War", I'm disappointed to say. A couple shootouts and three mostly short hand-to-hand fights comprise the adrenaline centerpieces. Cibrian is surprisingly adept with his spinning kicks and sweeps, but just when you're starting to appreciate this guy's athletic ability during an encounter, the fight ends. Norris gets the coolest move of the movie by copying the flying kick through a car windshield of his own Good Guys Wear Black, but a couple acrobatic takedowns by his character are clearly performed via stunt doubles. Slow motion is excruciatingly overused. The film's production is clean but clearly of made-for-TV quality, what with the aforementioned red filters, slow motion, and the opening credits stretching throughout the first fifteen minutes of the movie. The acting is passable, but no single character is all that interesting. There's nothing very wrong with "Logan's War", but it's just not intriguing enough to get a higher rating. Norris fans can do better, and they would probably be the only ones who'd be interested in this movie in the first place. Keep looking.
