Stupid movie

Good Lord. All those famous, highly regarded actors turning out forthis horrible movie. What were they thinking? Of the money? Of course. They couldn't havebeen doing it for the credibility as the script was unbelievably lame. They couldn't have been doing it for the laughs, as the jokes wereconsistently low-brow, unfunny stereotypes. The jokes, even when viewedas ironic or cringe-worthy, were consistently terrible. I don't mindswearing or crudity, but it should be within the context of a halfwayintelligent script, otherwise it's just rubbish schoolboy humor.Even a script containing bumbling idiots needs a degree ofbelievability about it. This movie, even when viewed as nothing morethan a brain-dead comedy, is repeatedly stupid. The three guys beingtormented by their bosses continually make out-of-character mistakes.I was genuinely offended that actors like Kevin Spacey and ColinFarrell would lower themselves to this guff. Jason Bateman not so much,as he seems to be finding his niche with these kind of movies. (See TheChange-Up)

The Hangover Wannabe

Am I the only one that noticed this? I mean, an R-rated comedy. JasonSudeikis is Bradley Cooper, the cool charming guy. Charlie Day is ZachGalifianakis, the hilarious stupid guy. And Jason Bateman is Ed Helms, the insecure boring loser. Lots of funny twists and crazy stuff onlyfor it to all get worked out in the end. I'm not saying it's bad, because I enjoyed it, and I'm glad the Hangover trend is becoming morecommon. Jamie Foxx in particular was hilarious, and I loved CharlieDay's character, but the best thing about this movie has to be JenniferAniston. She was given the perfect role and she delivered itexquisitely as expected, lucky us! It's good laughs, enjoyable movie.Jennifer Aniston makes it great and highly re-watchable.

satire of modern American culture

Horrible Bosses is filled with satire of modern American culture.Overly perverse in sexual ways, and definitely not appropriate forchildren, I suppose this dystopian film is a sad reflection of ourreality. Ultimately, it reminds us that we are living in a societydominated by soulless corporations, which are riven by irrational, prejudicial, and feudal hierarchy.Kevin Spacey performed brilliantly, which should be expected of thesecond-best American actor era of his era (after Clint Eastwood),whilst Charlie Day is clearly becoming a modern Woody Allen or CharlieChaplin. Furthermore, Jason Bateman was reminiscent of Ron Livingstonin Office Space, or perhaps Tom Hanks in either The 'Burbs or JoeVersus the Volcano. James Foxx also deserves mention, for his firstmajor role since Any Given Sunday. As for Colin Farrell, you can tellthat he gave this role a lot of serious study. Meanwhile, JenniferAniston once again played herself perfectly.Horrible Bosses is highly recommended for anyone who liked Stone,Hesher, War of the Roses, Office Space, It's Always Sunny inPhiladelphia, Arrested Development, Crash, or American Beauty.

Horrible Bosses. Horribe Employees?

This film has good casting first off, you have the three main leads byup and coming comedy actors and then you have three A-List Hollywoodheavy weights, and Jennifer Aniston (looking very sexy may I add)supporting the film.Let's start with Kevin Spacey, very convincing - you do actually wanthim to be punched. The best scenes are the ones with him in. The storykind of revolves his character.Without giving too much away, the situation these three guys findthemselves is one in which a lot of people can relate to (at least intheir heads), and so "Horrible Bosses" lends itself to be watched byanyone who works (which is many people). You will have empathy, and youwill be hoping the story unfolds in such a fashion as to keep youamused, and it does. Some moments are incredibly hilarious, others arelow brow and bordering on acceptable, just. There are also tediousmoments and there are also many moments of Hollywood cliché that canoffend. However there is much amusement to be had and the steady paceis welcomed, with many laugh out loud moments peppered within the film.Jamie Fox was not necessary though, although his character is essentialto the story, Jamies' Hollywood punch has no finesse in this film, thisrole could have been played anyone. Jamie Fox is mere window dressingfor the films credits.Jennifer Aniston is necessary, she provides sexiness and plays her rolewell, a charming easy going demeanor throughout and she does manage toget under your skin with her brash ways.Colin Farrell's character seems to be a bit of a parody in terms oflooks to Tom Cruise in "Tropic Thunder" and for me, expecting more ofColin I was heavily disappointed with this role, he never quitemastered it, you are left unconvinced. The three lead actors did an okish job, you believe them. At least theymanage to have you engrossed for the most part with their clumsinessand unfortunate, but amusing series of events they are subjected too. This film relies heavily on 'murphy's law' if something can go wrong itwill, and it does, many times. A few good twists, most predictablethough. This film has to be recommended, not highly but it is definitely notone to be missed: Out of 10 for the following facets:Laugh Out LoudMoments: 7 Good Casting: 8 Coughing Your Coffee Through Your NoseMoments: 5 Jennifer Aniston, sexy as: 8. Overall: 6.5 More attootbit.com

Horrible movie.

Really, this is one of the most horrible movies I've seen in the lastfew years and I can't believe its 7.3 of ratings. What is wrong withyou people, have you lost your judgment capacities entirely?! What haveyou been watching lately to unbelievably consider this movie somethingwatchable, entertaining or whatever? It has an interesting plot but a horrible script, actors playingannoying characters and a very, very awful development. Never foundJennifer Aniston funnier or interesting more than what she did inFriends, but here she exceeds the line of what an actor should neverever do. I think the same about Jason Bateman, he's not funny and Inever could understand why Americans love him so much. The only actorswho save some minutes are Kevin Spacey and Collin Farrell. Both Kevinand Collin seems to just having some fun and never try hard to givevery funny moments that the other ones never give.Awful, unfunny, uncomfortable, a waste of time and money. Horriblemovie.

You Cannot Possibly Fai! to Love This Film?

My wife and I went to an evening showing of this film, and weresupremely pleased and entertained. The small auditorium in which thefilm was shown was approximately 1/2 full. Suffice to say, the roarsand yuks from the attendees filled and overflowed the venue.Exceptional dialog, with outstanding supporting cast, make this filmbeyond wonderful. For "A" list performers to accept supporting roles v.demanding starring roles speaks volumes to the story, the writers,producers/directors, and the film itself. They were all good sports. Each actor made their fine individual contributions, for the greatergood. In my opinion, Jennifer Aniston was the REAL star. Herdelightfully-decadent character and portrayal of the Depraved Dentistwas delightful. She played it to the hilt, and was very convincing. Iadmit to arousal in virtually all of her scenes. She has never beenmore beautiful, more sexy, more sensual. I'm confident she had greatfun making this film.Kevin Spacey was exactly who/what I expected him to be. He can take arole - any role - and truly make it his own. He genuinely was a bossyou would "want to take out!" My wife and I will likely see this filmagain. If you're prepared for some ribald humor and sexual titillation,as well as amazing humor, by all means see this film.

Good plot ruined by filth

This plot--which was kind of cute--could have been told just as well without the truckloads of profanity and extreme excess of raunchy, outright disgusting bits (such as the "wetworks" man, the insertion of the toothbrush, etc.) After seeing this movie, I felt as though I needed a bath, and ought to have my mind washed out with soap. Our culture has degenerated to the point where obscenity is considered normal. So depressing! If you want to see a similar movie that's a lot cleaner, try "Office Space."

As Dull As The Hangover

LIke The Hangover, the main characters were uninteresting and unlikableand had no chemistry. One was simply annoying. And that guy was JasonSudeikis. What the heck was he doing there? How did he get the part?Anyway, like in The Hangover, the main characters experienced wildly, fantastic, knee- slapping events. And just as in The Hangover, I juststared blankly at the screen watching these guys try to make me laugh.I saw the cues where I was supposed to laugh but I couldn't. As timepassed, it became more and more evident this film wasn't going to getfunnier. So now the only thing that kept me watching was to see how thebosses got knocked off. Interestingly, The Hangover had a similargimmick-- to find out what happened to the bachelor-- to keep peoplehanging around until the end.Despite my curiosity about the fate of the bosses, the shear dullnessof this film kept me from watching the remaining 15 minutes. To befair, I did laugh a few times. The film started out promising in thefirst 5 minutes, but just sputtered from there until the finish line(which I didn't really get to.) It felt like there was an opportunity here that was missed. This filmhad a good premise. Would it be a black comedy like Heathers? Or wouldit poke fun at the common, mundane work environment like Office Space?I laughed just thinking about it. The actual product ended up beingneither and was just poorly executed. It would've been better as ahalf-hour TV show. In fact, it felt like one-- except it was stretchedinto 2 hours. Watch Office Space instead. Jennifer Aniston is in that too.

Was this movie that funny?

I saw the trailor first. It was not funny. I thought they were being funny and wanted us to see the real funny stuff when the movie came out.I saw the movie. IMO this is not a funny movie. I saw it with a friend. He too did not think it was funny. The best part of the film was Jennifer Anniston's over the top sex crazy charactor. All the actors did a good job.Maybe I have lost my sense of humour...perhaps I never had any or perhaps I have seen too many films. I did find the Airplane series quite funny.

Horrible Bosses (2011)

Horrible Bosses takes a trio of idiots and has them trying to killtheir bosses. Sometimes stupid characters can be ever so annoying, buthere the slapstick and one-liners are bountiful enough to make themlikable. It is also clear that these guys are certainly no killers, making it fun to see them fail considerably. Bateman is tortured by hisboss Spacey, Sudeikis has to deal with Farrell's paranoid coke head, and Day is sexually assaulted by Aniston. Each of the people playingthe bosses really hits the nail on the head, though Farrell just isn'tin it enough. The film never took itself as dark as I wanted, but thiscomes from a guy that loves Very Bad Things. I was also unsure ifAniston's role was really necessary. Not that she was bad, but thewriters seemed to have a hard time including her, and even herconclusion seemed tacked on as an afterthought. Overall though I wasfar from disappointed, as this gave me the most consistent amount oflaughs I've had in quite some time.

Not great, but a fun way to spend an evening.

The first time I watched this movie I was in the theater with a fewmates and we were extremely hungover. The only reason we even went tosee it was because we were so smashed from the night before we reallyjust wanted somewhere comfy to sleep for a few hours before the trainhome. It started, two of us fell asleep. The other three of us ended upfighting the painful desire to sleep (this was partly due to the moviehaving some comical moments and partly due to Jennifer Aniston lookingso damn fine).I watched it again recently, as naturally I couldn't remember it thatwell the first time I saw it and my conclusion is that it is a fun wayto spend an evening if you've not much better to do. It's a similartype of comedy to The Hangover (though not as funny). It isn't "laughout loud" humor but it does certainly make you chuckle a few times. If you've got a few hours to kill and you want to be mildly entertainedwithout having to think too much, give 'Horrible Bosses' a shout. You'll not regret it. Just don't expect to be blown away by anythingother than Jen's figure when she wears nothing much more than alab-coat.Enjoy...

A breath of fresh air to the R-rated comedy genre

There have been quite a few R-rated comedies this year, but they've allleft something to be desired. Your Highness collapsed under beingnothing but improvised toilet humor, The Hangover Part II was acomplete rehash of the original, Hall Pass was just a disappointingattempt by the Farrelly brothers, and Bad Teacher was too tame toreally be called "bad" at all. Paul and Bridesmaids were both prettydecent, but Paul wasn't nearly as good as the movies Simon Pegg andNick Frost collaborated with Edgar Wright on and Bridesmaids prettymuch played out like every other Judd Apatow movie out there. It wasbeginning to feel like every R-rated comedy from here on out would beso similar to everything before it that the laughs it tried to providewouldn't be very funny at all. Thankfully, Horrible Bosses came alongto prove that theory wrong. What's interesting is that Horrible Bosses kind of follows the sameformula as The Hangover; three guys getting themselves into a reallyterrible situation but roofies are replaced with a crazy scheme to killtheir bosses. The funniest aspect of the movie lies within three guys,Nick (Jason Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day), and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis),obviously having no idea what they're getting themselves into anddealing with the situation in the worst way imaginable. Things getreally crazy really fast and only get more hectic as the movie jogsalong. That's essentially the movie's charm. While the formulas to thetwo movies are similar, Horrible Bosses does seem to offer quite a bitmore than The Hangover. The cast may be the strongest factor of the movie though as nearlyeverybody involved makes the most of their screen time and manages toget a laugh or two in no matter if they're a recognized name or a newface. Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, and Jennifer Aniston play the threebosses and they're all fantastic in their roles. Spacey just goes outof his way to be the most despicable person anyone could really comeacross while Farrell, despite being selfish and greedy, still managesto toss in a few pretty hysterical one-liners. Aniston will probably bethe one that sticks out the most since she makes the biggest impact bybeing rather forward with her sexual desires for Dale. It's just such adifferent role from what Aniston has played in the past. The chemistrybetween Bateman, Day, and Sudeikis is really spot-on, as well. Theirconversations, fighting amongst each other and interactions just makeyou really believe that these three have known each other for years.Even though his role is a little small, Jamie Foxx deserves a mentionas well. Dean Jones turns out to just be a really entertainingcharacter overall. It's difficult to point out any sort of problems this comedy reallyhas, if there are any at all. The film is extremely vulgar, but doesn'treally feel entirely too crude or include any gross out gags like manyR-rated comedies seem to fall victim to. None of the cast drags themovie down as they all do their part to drive the movie forward. I feellike it won't be as successful as some would think though and will beovershadowed by other comedies that aren't nearly as solid or as funnyas Horrible Bosses is. That's really the only complaint anyone couldpossibly have.Horrible Bosses is easily the most hilarious R-rated comedy of thesummer. The strong cast, amusing dialogue, and entertaining banterbetween Nick, Dale, and Kurt is more than enough to sky rocket HorribleBosses to the top of the list of comedies released this year. CharlieDay will have you laughing right from the start. Luckily, HorribleBosses came along to inject some much needed hilarity into mainstreamcomedy this season.

Horrible bosses - horrible movie

I've met horrible bosses. My business partner was an absolutely horrible boss which I hope Inever work with again. The bosses in this movie were just bad...not horrible. The movie was worse than the bosses ever were.I was anxious to see this and actually made time for this - only to beletdown.Kevin Spacey did a much better job in Swimming With Sharks and somehowseems greatly wasted in this film.Jason Bateman lacks pizazz. He lacks spark, not that he is a bad actor, but he's not a lead. He's far from a lead. His presence lacks in everyfilm he's in.The movie is slow, sloppy and boring and overall bad. It's piecedtogether just to put something on screen - because the bosses (thoughnot the best) were just bad, not horrible. There could have been so much more done to improve this script and makethis movie much more funnier, but was sadly missed.

Absolutely hilarious

If a movie makes me laugh so hard I get tears in my eyes, that's when Iknow it was totally worth the money. This movie has moments of purecomedic gold. I was cracking up. Obviously Jason Batemen is hilarious, especially in this, with such a dry and almost seemingly unintentionalsense of comedic timing. And Charlie Day... what can be said aboutCharlie Day to fully describe just how funny he is? There are no words. He is absolutely hilarious. I knew he would be, because I watch "It'sAlways Sunny in Philadelphia", and he was funny in "Going the Distance"as well. But being that this is his first really major role in a reallymajor film, he was PERFECT. Also, the "villains"; Kevin Spacey,Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell, were awesome. They were eachindividually funny as hell. I loved the movie all around, and would seeit again if I had the time! :) Highly recommended.

The funniest movie in a long time.

Simply put, one of the most hilarious films I've ever seen. I neverlaugh out loud when I'm watching something by myself, but I did it atleast a dozen times during this. There were times where I couldn'tbreathe I was laughing so hard. I was expecting the film to go to somedark places, but it was way more black and wild than I was anticipatingit to be. There were moments that just had me screaming in stunnedlaughter. What really sold the film were the three leads. JasonBateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis are three actors that I haveimmensely enjoyed for years in their own contexts, but bringing themall together was such a brilliant idea. The film is at it's peak whenthey are all on screen together and the most surprising thing is thatno one upstages anyone else. The three of them work together as thiscohesive unit, nobody stealing the show.Colin Farrell is the only one of the bosses that I loved and I wish hewas given more screen time (his scene in the credits had me crying),but Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston certainly weren't bad. Anotherhuge surprise was how fresh it felt all the way through. Pretty muchevery by-the-books comedy like this feels the need to throw in thisdramatic "everyone learns a lesson" third act in the end that alwaysdisrupts the flow and just makes the film drag on, but this one didn'tdo that at all. It ended with a hilarious high and never once draggedfor a second. I don't think I've ever felt that a comedy like this wastoo short, but at the end of this one I seriously just wanted it to goon longer; that's never happened with me. It was too good, even betterthan I was hoping and I can't wait to watch it again.

Terrible movie.

I didn't start to laugh once. I've seen 8 movies in the last month and this was the worst one. All great actors and Jennifer A wow!, but nothing could make this script work. just yuck.

Its 9 to 5 meets Strangers on a Train..... and its hilarious...

Think 9 to 5 meets Strangers on a Train. A sick and twisted idea ofmurdering each other's "problem" combined with the ultimate workplacecomedy about an evil boss. It's a perfect way to summarize HorribleBosses, the latest R-Rated comedy to come out of an already busyR-Rated comedy summer. It's very funny and it's a nice break fromsuperhero and event movies. As the movie opens, each of the main characters tell us a little bitabout their job and boss in a voice over. Nick (Bateman) tells us aboutDave Harken (Spacey), Kurt (Sudeikis) fills us in on Bobby Pellitt(Farrell) and poor Dale (Day) tries to get us to sympathize with himabout Dr. Julia Harris (Aniston). Each one of the guys are miserablewith their employers and contemplates quitting, that is until an oldfriend (Byrne) stops by and shows them what unemployed life could turnout to be. Once the boys are convinced that murder is their onlyoption, they set out to hire a hit-man. After a hilarious encounterwith a man (Gruffudd, in an excellent cameo) that posted an ad onCraigslist, they turn to their NavGuide specialist to direct them tothe seediest neighborhood bar. It's there where they meet Mr. Jones(Foxx), a shady-looking dude with an even shadier past and funniernickname who helps the guys with their dirty deeds.I won't go on anymore about what happens, I certainly don't want tospoil anything. Just know that the movie zips along at a very fast paceand never lets up in the laughs department. They fire the jokes likethey were coming from a comedy AK-47. The script is well-written andthe dialog is sometimes crude, but often witty. Jennifer Aniston hascertainly never talked like this in any of her other movies. I lovethat she got to play against type and she nails her performance as thesexually aggressive Dr. Harris. I wouldn't be surprised to see someGolden Globe nominations for the bosses come award time. Speaking ofthe bosses' performances, it's a shame that they didn't have morescreen time, this movie could have easily stuck in a few more scenes of"Bosses Behaving Badly" to milk some more laughs or even show us whatabsolute nightmares these guys were dealing with. But, I'm fine withwhat they did show us, I just wanted a little bit more. That's basically all you need to know about this one. It speeds throughthe 100-minute running time like it was nothing and will have youlaughing the entire way through, I don't even think they had one ofthose "aw, this movie has heart, too" moments, for which I am grateful. And I loved the ending in which a new boss was introduced to us(surprise cameo alert). Be sure to stick around while the credits arerolling to see some funny bloopers and ad libs as well. More reviews atwww.soveryterry.com Final Grade: A-

Pathetic

I was ready to laugh, ready to be entertained.I like The Hangover.I like Bridesmaids.I like Office Space.I like Superbad et alI like Jason Bateman.Kevin Spacey is God.I have nothing against any of the actors.I don't mind swearing, I don't mind so-called obscenities, I don't mindnudity or crossing lines or far-out humour.I just don't like this film. Not funny. Zilch. Zero.I could not laugh at anything offered in this film...It has no heart.Maybe it caught me on a bad day - I dunno.Get a life, I wanted to say. And, first and foremost: Be a man! Or awoman - anything but slugs. Gosh, who wants to watch stupid spinelesslosers gibbering and messing up? I don't.The movie started with a song used in another film, that got a smileout of me because I happen to like that film very very much - a goodcomedy, opposed to this one.Kevin Spacey - MAN! Keyser Soze, John Doe, K-Pax - I love you man, butthis film should have been beneath you - WAY beneath you, simplybecause it is BAD...This film was not for me, obviously, I know/hope I am not alone indisliking it.

Kevin Spacey works for DeDonde Inc. (as well as Keyser Soze)

This film is quite an interesting documentary about three different industries in the United States and their respective working conditions. Meet Bateman, Sudoku and Day: three hopeful employees trapped in the mad world of Corporate America. They're just everyday people trying to get ahead and please their superiors. Not an easy task.Meet the bosses: One's a Dentist, one's a Coke dealer and the other works for DeDonde Inc. The film follows the struggles and disagreements between the bosses and the employees. After several murders and criminal attempts, the notorious M.F. Jones enters the scene. Reportedly from Dallas, Jones informs Sudoku, Bateman and Day that their bosses must be eliminated. He also mentioned MICHAELmATICIAN in a vague reference to film Piracy. This film documentary is recommended and shall be studied by all Right citizens.
