Garrows dead sexy

This series is clever and thought-provoking. The period dress and theway that court was conducted are historically accurate and fascinating. As well as the serious cases which are considered, there are thehumorous incidents which help to balance the series. Many British period dramas focus on the upper class folk. This one, bycontrast, brings us face to face with the working class, with theirappalling living conditions, clothing and poor hygiene. Our hero is based upon a real-life figure, William Garrow (1760-1840).He is idealistic, trying to make the law work for those who are unableto help themselves and is well sexy in this version. Thanks to him, many of the rights we now take for granted, came to be accepted. There are just four episodes of this fine series. I hope that the BBCwill see fit to make more, as there is a lot more to be said.

Wonderful and very clever series

When I first heard of Garrow's Law last year, it looked veryinteresting. I saw all the episodes and loved the series from start tofinish. But I was saddened when the series ended as I thought it wasone of the better programmes of the year. Deep down, I hoped it wouldreturn and be as strong as ever. When I heard it had indeed returned Iwas overjoyed. I couldn't wait for the beautiful period detail, theclever dialogue and stories, the classic Alun Armstrong moments and ofcourse William Garrow himself. And I was not disappointed. When Garrow's Law started, it was fascinating, beautifully written andhandsome in its detail. When it returned, it was all three of thosethings and more. The period detail once more is very accurate and eyecatching, the lovely scenery and sumptuous costumes are perfectlycaptured by the skillful photography. The music is excellent too, often haunting and somewhat poignant too.The direction throughout I have had no problem with either, while thewriting is thought-provoking and always clever and the stories andcases also accurate, interesting and well-written. The acting isoutstanding I feel. Andrew Buchan is excellent as Garrow, veryhandsome, idealistic and very intelligent. Lyndsey Marshal is lovelytoo, delicate and well meaning. But I love Alun Armstrong the most,Armstrong is a wonderful actor I feel and he couldn't have been moreperfect as Southouse. Plus there are plenty of classic moments withhim, not only in the stories but also in the dialogue and facialexpressions.Overall, Garrow's Law is a wonderful series. 10/10 Bethany Cox

Excellent Series. Unfortunately, Too Short

Great series truth and principles rule the day

There are 4 episode of Garrows Law. I found them interesting andentertaining and also some humor. The man that plays Garrow, Andrew Buchan is first starting his lawpractice with Southouse/Alun Armstrong who played Brian in New Tricks.Armstrong is a kind of mentor to Garrow. Lady Sarah Hill is a womanseeking the truth and is a regular that observes cases in Court seatednext to the Judge with other people that are observers.Lady Sarah and Garrows are attracted to each other in the series.Garrows wants more but Sarah does love her husband. Lady Sarah'shusband gathers among the the higher ups connected with enforcing thelaw, legislating it and offering political appointments for favors. Shedislikes some of the things her husband does because they are for thewrong reasons. Garrow and her bond for sharing the same views andvalues especially the application of the law.At times Garrows represents people he does not like but he wantsjustice for them regarding the law. Most clients have very little moneyto pay him but he is a fighter and willing to work for almost nothingif he believes a persons rights are violated or the person falselyaccused. Laws then were not like they are now.I really like this series. The characters were liars and mean or peoplelike Garrow and Lady Sarah, that had strong principles and acted onthem. Garrows at first is gruff, loud and inexperienced in defendingpeople and Court procedures. He is mocked by people in Court especiallythe Procecutor. Garrows still has many of the same mannerisms but islearning fast and is still gruff, loud, and rude in Court for all theright reasons but now he is winning cases.Garrows/Andrew Buchan carries this part well. He pauses in speech, hestares at the camera in wide open eyes and he is very handsome.Sarah Hill/Lyndsey Marshall is honorable, and does what is right evenif it cost her marriage. She is clear in speech, beautiful and direct.See it if you can.
