One of the funniest films of the 1990s

Well it may not be Fellini, but it certainly takes an iron stomach notlaugh at arguably, The Farrelly brothers most rib-tickling movie todate. Jim Carrey does his stuff like only he knows how, but it is Dumb,rather than Dumber, who takes the biggest plaudits. Jeff Daniels makesmince meat out of some of the scripts best lines ("She fed me some crapabout not listening to her, I dunno, I wasn't really payingattention"). There are wonderful site gags (checkout Lloyd's plungeonto the airport floor) and magnificently delivered lines. Some of thematerial doesn't leave much in the way of subtlety (one momentinvolving a toilet and a laxative), but as crude humour goes, it's hardto fault. And unlike so many comedies before it, D & D manages to staytrue to its material until the very end, eschewing soppy feel goods fordumb, and then some. I haven't laughed this much since I saw The QuestFor The Holy Grail, and I do not say that lightly.

Watch Dumb and Dumber if:1. You have no prejudices. THis is a film that liberally mocks everyonefor what they are - only people with Politically Correct OCD will beoffended. True liberals embrace it.2. You have some pop-culture and historical knowledge. THere are greathidden jokes.3. You're attentive. There are loads of subtle jokes amongst it all thatyou'll miss first time round but will get on your fourth of fifth timeround.4. You love Carey and Daniels. They shine in it, they could even convertyou if you're not a fan.5. You like jokes about blacks, gays, cripples, Jews, the elderly, theill,cancer, death, blindness, murder and poo.6. You have a fully developed and heathy sense of humour.DO NOT watch if:1. A Classic

I'd have to say one of my favorite movies. you have to watch it more than once to really enjoy it. the first time i saw it i thought it was pretty pointless. but if you watch it with an open mind there are tons of funny parts that just get better every time. it doesn't get old! a movie that you'll get your money's worth from.

This is truly the greatest and funniest comedy of all time. Jim Carrey'sfacial expressions alone cause countless numbers of laughs. The FarrellyBrothers really hit the nail on the head with this one. Lloyd ChristmasandHarry Dunne are best on screen duo ever. Great movie...if you haven't seenit, see it immediately.

Absolutely the best movie of all time!!!

First of all, I love Jim Carey. I remember him from the days he was in the Fox comedy sketch comedy show "In Living Color." I'm glad to see his comic genius flourish to the mainstream movie audience. Dumb & Dumber is by far his best comedy yet and is definitely #1 on my list of all-time favorite movies. The "dumb" nature of this movie allows Carey (Lloyd) to indulge in his personalized crazy humor. Giving an equally great performance was Jeff Daniels (Harry). These two were made for each other! Lloyd Christmas, a limo driver, and Harry Dunn, a dog breeder/groomer drive to Aspen, California errr I mean Colorado to deliver a lost briefcase owned by the lovely Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly). However, the briefcase was not lost at all. Instead, it was meant to be a ransom payoff in return for Mary's husband who was apparently kidnapped. A roadtrip was just the perfect adventure for these two tweedle dumb's as they encounter and confuse many people with their innocent and childish stupidity. Not only is this movie chalk full of fart and poop jokes (and it is) but they are also tasteful fart & poop jokes! Only Jim Carey could pull off the wickedly funny facial expressions required to show his relief from whizzing into a beer bottle while driving in Harry's sheepdog van. I'm sure everyone has seen this movie already as it is an intergral part of American culture! And if not, what are you waiting for???

ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME

This movie is so funny!!!!!!!!!! yes, i does have a lot of "fart jokes" (not literaly but that kind of ha ha ha) "That's it! I've had it with this DUMP! We've got no FOOD! We've got no JOBS! Our pets HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!!" you wont find another movie like this anywhere. take it from me, it guarentees hundreds of laughs during the movie and after. you'll watch it 50 times and it will still crack you up. one of the best movies of all time. a true classic.

One of my all-time favorite motion pictures!

Without question, the 1994 comedy film Dumb & Dumber is one of myall-time favorite motion pictures. I saw this movie when it first cameout and I was instantly hooked on it. I laughed very hard when Iwatched it on the big screen (by the way, I was twelve years old whenthis film was theatrically released). Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels areterrific as the two lead characters. The rest of the cast also reallyglows. This film will probably still be a favorite with me even when Iam past the age of fifty.The film is about two best friends who are unable to keep sensible,steady jobs while hoping to eventually start their own business. Lloydwas working as a limousine driver when he met a gorgeous woman namedMary Swanson. He proceeded to drive her to the airport when he fellmadly in love with her. She leaves her briefcase in the airportterminal and Lloyd immediately rushed to get it back to her. He was toolate and lost his job following his fall from the jet-way. Harry wasalso terminated after he failed to deliver dogs to the proper pet showon time. After much deliberation, Harry and Lloyd decide to take a roadtrip across America. Their destination: Aspen, Colorado. Lloyd wants tobe reunited with Mary so that he can start a relationship with her, inaddition to returning her the briefcase she left behind. Little do theboys know that they are being pursued by a couple of criminals who areafter the money that is being kept inside the locked briefcase; theywere sent on the mission by Nicholas Andre, a man who is linked somehowto Mary and her family.I have several favorite sequences from this hysterical picture. One iswhere Harry and Lloyd encounter trouble at a truck-stop diner. A truckdriver named Sea Bass is accidentally hit with a salt-shaker fromHarry. Sea Bass is irritated and spits on Harry's hamburger. Lloyddecides to seek revenge on Sea Bass and his gang by telling the staffthat they are willing to pay for the service that he and Harry receivedat the restaurant. By the way, the waitress that they talk to is a verycute young woman with black hair. She also seems to be very sweet. Theyget away with this scheme while the overly tough Sea Bass is leftfeeling tremendous amounts of anger. I also like it when the duo putsatomic hot peppers on Joe's burger and makes him sick; he has an ulcerand cannot have such edibles. Joe groans and gives a request for hismedicine; Harry unknowingly gives Joe rat poison, which instantly killshim. I also liked it when Harry drank the tea containing the Turbo Lax;this made him have to go very bad as his bowels were getting ready topop.I love this movie! Dumb & Dumber will forever remain to be one of myfavorite films. There are so many moments in this movie that areexceedingly hilarious. I recommend this title for anyone who loves tolaugh.

HILARIOUS-ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES

I can't say enough about this movie! I love it to bits! I've seen it a million times, and yet still can't get enough of it! It ALWAYS cracks me up! I've been addicted to it, since the first time I saw it! I think that it's the kind of movie that you either really love, or totally hate, lol. The bathroom humor is hilarious. I recommend it to anyone who loves crazy comedies.

waste of time

This movie should be called "Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest". The dumbest isanyone who likes this move. There is absolutely nothing redeeming aboutthis movie. I like slapstick and I'm all for potty humor, but everythingwas so gratuitous in this movie, it was just pointless. If you haven'tseenit, please spare yourself a huge waste of time and brain cells and DON'TSEEIT!

Best movie ever

Dumb And Dumber is definitely a great movie. It is one of those that never gets old like the Austin Powers movies. I have had that movie for over 2 years and I still laugh every time I watch it.

Dumb Dumber doesnt take much skill, but remains funny for the almost 2 hour movie length

Dumber and Funnier than anything else

After having seen this film at leat 10 times, I still laugh out loud just at seeing the cover. This is easily Jim Carrey's best film, which does exactly what it was intended to do: make you laugh. I received the VHS version in Spanish from friends and it was still hilarious, dubbing and all. The film does not make any intellectual breakthroughs but I dare anyone to keep a straight face when Carrey has a dream sequence at night of impressing his would be love interest by being the life of the party. Just when you catch your breath, our tow heroes make a grand entrance on a 'hog' in Aspen that's worth the purchase price of the DVD alone. You'll explode with laughter. The ending is perfect and reflects exactly what such characters would have done in the same circumstances. Many would dismiss this as a stupid film. It's much worse and that's the whole point. It gets my wholehearted 5 star rating because it succeeds entirely in what it sets out to do. Give you a stomach aching laugh for days!

One of the greatest comedies of all time! SPOILERS

Lloyd Christmas, a dimwitted limo driver, drives a beautiful woman named Mary Swanson to the airport, and falls in love with her. As he drives away, he notices that she left a suitcase on the terminal's floor, and he decides that he wants to return it to her. Unfortunately for Lloyd, Mary's plane takes off before he can get it to her, and he winds up falling off the jetway. It turns out that Lloyd and his best friend Harry are fired from their jobs, and two convicts are trying to track them down, due to the fact that they have Mary's suitcase. Lloyd is now on a mission. He must give her back the suitcase, and tell her how he feels. So he and Harry set off to Aspen, Colorado, and after a journey full of accidents, try to find her. Worst Movie Ever!!!!!!!

I realize that with a title like "Dumb and Dumber"one should not be expecting oscar caliber performances.But this movie just stinks!! NOt only was I offended byit, but I found nothing in the movie to make me laugh.In fact the first time that I tried watching this, someoneelse rented it, I fell asleep about halfway through themovie! And the second time that I tried to watch it,my roommate owns the DVD, I fell asleep during the credits!

Fuuunnnnnnnnnnnny!!!

Dumb and Dumber made me laugh so hard my sides were killing me! I'mserious it was that funny. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are greattogether in this film. Both are extremely corny and funny. Thoughdespite the fact that the humor is dumb, that's what makes it funny!Some of it is a little crude, but that does not mean that it's notfunny. I'm telling you Jim Carrey is hilarious in this movie, so if youneed a good laugh, get this movie and watch it. This is a comedyclassic. You will not be disappointed. I guarantee it! Dumb and Dumberbarely has any parts that are not funny. Trust me. So, go buy thismovie, you won't regret it.

Harry and Lloyd go on a trip.

Harry and Lloyd go on a trip across America to return a briefcase to Mary. Acouple of the jokes are corny but the rest of them are funny. The cop jokeis the best next to Lloyd's dream. I have seen this movie six times and thejokes are still funny. Jim Carry and Jeff Daniels are great as two annoyinglosers. The soundtrack for this movie is great; it has the hit "The Balladof Peter Pumpkinhead" by Crash Test Dummies. For Harry and Lloyd everyday isa no-brainer.
